Matthew Gospel_Chapter 4

At that time, Jesus was led by the Holy Spirit into the wilderness and was tempted by the devil.

He fasted for forty days and nights, and later became hungry.

The tempter came forward and said to him, “If you are the son of God, command these stones to be turned into food.”.

But Jesus answered, As it is written, Man lives not by food alone, but by all the words that come out of God’s mouth.

The devil brought him into the holy city and made him stand on the top of the temple with wings

Tell him, if you are the son of God, you can jump down. For it is written in the scripture that the Lord commanded his messengers to support you with their hands, so that your feet may not touch the stones.

Jesus said to him, “It is written again, ‘Do not test the Lord your God.'”.

The devil took him up to the highest mountain and showed him all the kingdoms and their glory in the world,

And say to him, If you bow down and worship me, I will give you all these things.

Jesus said, “Satan, go back.”. For it is written in the scripture, Worship the Lord your God, and serve him only.

So the devil left Jesus and angels came to serve him.

When Jesus heard that John had been imprisoned, he withdrew to Galilee.

Afterwards, he left Nazareth and went to Capernaum, where he lived. That place is by the sea, on the border between Zebulun and Naphtali.

This is to fulfill the words of the prophet Isaiah,

Saying, The land of Zebulun and the land of Naphtali, which is the coastal road, beyond the Jordan River, is the land of Galilee for the Gentiles.

The people sitting in the darkness saw a great light, and those sitting in the land of the shadow of death saw a light shining on them.

From that time on, Jesus began to preach, saying, Repent, for the kingdom of heaven is near.

Jesus was walking by the sea of Galilee and saw two brothers, Simon named Peter and his brother Andrew, casting a net in the sea. They were originally fishing.

Jesus said to them, Follow me, and I will make you catch people like fish.

They immediately abandoned the net and followed him.

Moving forward from there, I saw two brothers, James son of Zebedee and his brother John, with their father Zebedee repairing their nets on the ship. Jesus called them.

They immediately abandoned the ship, bid farewell to their father, and followed Jesus.

Jesus traveled throughout Galilee, teaching in various synagogues, preaching the gospel of the kingdom of heaven, and healing all kinds of illnesses among the people.

His reputation spread throughout Syria. The people there brought all those who were sick, including those who suffered from all kinds of illnesses and pains, those possessed by demons, those with epilepsy, and those who were paralyzed. And Jesus healed them.

At present, many people came with him from Galilee, Decapolis, Jerusalem, Judea, and beyond the Jordan River.
