Matthew Gospel_Chapter 14

At that time, King Herod, who was enfeoffed, heard of the reputation of Jesus,

And he said to his servants, This is John the Baptist who has been resurrected from the dead, so these powers have come out of him.

At first, Herod arrested John and locked him up in prison because of Herodias, the wife of his brother Philip.

Because John once said to him, it is unreasonable for you to marry this woman.

Herod wanted to kill him, but he was afraid of the people. Because they regarded John as a prophet.

On Herod’s birthday, the daughter of Herod danced in front of everyone, making Herod happy.

Herod swore and promised to give her whatever she asked for.

My daughter was instructed by her mother to bring me the head of John the Baptist on a plate.

The king was sorrowful, but because of his oath and the people at the table, he ordered it to be given to her.

So he sent someone and beheaded John in the prison.

He put his head on the plate and gave it to the woman. The woman took it to her mother.

John’s disciples came and buried the leader of the corpse. Go and tell Jesus.

When Jesus heard this, he boarded a boat and retreated alone into the wilderness. When everyone heard this, they followed him on foot from all the cities.

When Jesus came out and saw many people, he had mercy on them and cured their sick.

As it was getting late, the disciples came forward and said, “This is a wilderness, and the time has passed.”. Please ask everyone to disperse so that they can go to the village and buy their own food.

Jesus said, You don’t need them to go, give them food.

The disciples said, We only have five loaves and two fish here.

Jesus said, Bring it to me.

So he ordered everyone to sit on the grass. Take these five cakes and two fish, look up at the sky, bless, break open the cakes, and hand them to the disciples. The disciples handed it to the crowd again.

They all ate and were full. Pack up the remaining fragments and fill twelve baskets.

There are about five thousand people who eat, except for women and children.

Jesus immediately urged his disciples to board the ship and cross over to the other side, waiting for him to disperse the crowd.

After dispersing the crowd, he went up the mountain alone to pray. At night, he was the only one there.

At that time, the ship was in the sea, swayed by the waves due to unfavorable winds.

On the fourth watch of the night, Jesus walked on the sea towards his disciples.

When the disciples saw him walking on the sea, they were alarmed and said, It is a ghost. Then he was afraid and shouted.

Jesus quickly said to them, “Rest assured.”. It’s me, don’t be afraid.

Peter said, Lord, if it were you, please let me walk from the water to you.

Jesus said, Come, come. Peter got off the ship and walked on the water to come to Jesus.

Just because of the strong wind, I am afraid. As he was about to sink, he shouted, “Lord, save me.”.

Jesus quickly reached out his hand and grabbed him, saying, “You little believer, why are you puzzled?”?

They boarded the ship and the wind stopped.

The people on the ship all worshipped him and said, “You are truly the son of God.”.

They crossed the sea and arrived at the place of Genesareth.

As soon as the people there recognized Jesus, they sent messengers to the surrounding areas and brought all the sick to him.

Just asking Jesus to allow them to touch his clothes?? Son, those who touch will be fine.
