Matthew Gospel_Chapter 8

Jesus went down from the mountain and many people followed him.

A leper came to worship him and said, “If the Lord is willing, he will be able to make me clean.”.

Jesus reached out his hand and touched him, saying, “I am willing, you have been cleansed.”. His leprosy was immediately cleansed.

Jesus said to him, “Do not tell anyone.”. Just go and show your body to the priests, offer the gift that Moses commanded, and serve as evidence to everyone.

When Jesus entered Capernaum, a centurion approached him and begged him, saying,

Lord, my servant is paralyzed and lying at home in great pain.

Jesus said, I will go and heal him.

The centurion replied, “Lord, I dare not have you come to my house.”. As long as you say one word, my servant will be well.

Because under human authority, there are also soldiers below me. To this, go, he will go. Say to that, come, he will come. And he said to my servant, Do this thing, and he will go and do it.

When Jesus heard this, he was amazed and said to those who followed him, Truly I tell you, even in Israel, I have not found such great faith.

I tell you again that many will come from the east and west, and will sit at the table with Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob in the kingdom of heaven.

Only the people of their own country were driven out into darkness. There will be weeping and gnashing of teeth.

Jesus said to the centurion, “Go back.”. According to your confidence, it has been fulfilled for you. At that time, his servant was healed.

Jesus arrived at Peter’s house and saw his mother-in-law lying down with a fever.

Jesus touched her hand and the heat subsided. She got up and served Jesus.

In the evening, some people came to Jesus with many demons, and with just one word, he drove out all the demons. And cured all those who were sick.

This is to fulfill the words of the prophet Isaiah, saying, He will replace our weaknesses and bear our illnesses.

When Jesus saw many people surrounding him, he ordered to cross over to the other side.

A scholar came and said to him, Master, wherever you go, I will follow you.

Jesus said, Foxes have holes, birds of the sky have nests, but the Son of Man has no place to rest.

Another disciple said to Jesus, Lord, let me go back first and bury my father.

Jesus said, Let the dead bury their dead, follow me.

Jesus got into the boat, and his disciples followed him.

A storm suddenly arose in the sea, and even the ship was covered by waves. But Jesus fell asleep.

The disciples came and woke him up, saying, Lord, save us, we have lost our lives.

Jesus said, “Why are you cowardly, you people of little faith?”? So he stood up and rebuked the wind and the sea, and they were greatly calm.

The crowd was amazed and said, “What kind of person is this? Even the wind and the sea have obeyed him.”.

When Jesus crossed over to the other side and arrived at the place of the Galatians, two demon possessed people came out of the tombs to meet him, extremely fierce, so that no one could pass by that road.

They shouted, ‘Son of God, what do we have to do with you?’. Before the time comes, will you come here to make us suffer?

Far away from them, there is a large group of pigs eating.

The demons begged Jesus, saying, If you drive us out, send us into the herd of pigs.

Jesus said, Go. The ghost will come out and enter the pig herd. The whole group suddenly rushed down the cliff and drowned in the sea.

Those who release pigs flee into the city and tell people all these things and what has happened to those who are possessed by demons.

All the people of the city came out to meet Jesus. After seeing them, they begged him to leave their realm.
