Matthew Gospel_Chapter 3

At that time, John the Baptist came out and preached in the wilderness of Judea, saying,

The kingdom of heaven is approaching, you should repent.

This person is what the prophet Isaiah said, ‘A voice is shouting in the wilderness,’ Prepare the way of the Lord, make his way straight. ‘.

John was dressed in camel hair, with a belt around his waist, and ate locusts and wild honey.

At that time, Jerusalem and all the land of Judea, as well as the region around the Jordan River, went out to John.

Admit their sins and be baptized by him in the Jordan River.

John saw many Pharisees and Sadducees also coming to be baptized, and said to them, O species of venomous snakes, who instructed you to flee from the wrath to come?

Bring forth fruit that is worthy of repentance.

Don’t say to yourself that Abraham is our ancestor. I tell you, God can raise up children for Abraham from these stones.

Now the axe has been placed on the root of the tree. Any tree that does not bear good fruit will be cut down and thrown into the fire.

Jesus replied, “Please allow me for now.”. Because we should fulfill all kinds of righteousness in this way. So John agreed to him.

Jesus was baptized and immediately came up from the water. The sky suddenly opened for him, and he saw the spirit of God descending like a dove, landing on him.

A voice from heaven says, “This is my beloved son, whom I am pleased with.”.
