As the Sabbath was coming to an end, on the first day of the seven days, when dawn was approaching, Mary Magdalene and the other Mary came to see the tomb.

Suddenly there was a great earthquake. Because an angel of the Lord came down from heaven, rolled away the stone, and sat on it.

His appearance is like lightning, and his clothes are as white as snow.

The guards were so frightened that they trembled all over, even like the dead.

The angel said to the woman, “Don’t be afraid, I know you are looking for Jesus who was crucified.”.

He is not here, as he said, he has been resurrected. Come and see where the Lord is placed.

Go quickly and tell his disciples that he has been resurrected from the dead and will go to Galilee before you, where you will see him. Look, I have already told you.

The women hurriedly left the tomb, afraid and overjoyed, running to report to his disciples.

Suddenly, Jesus met them and said, “May you have peace.”. They came forward and hugged his feet to worship him.

Jesus said to them, “Don’t be afraid. Go tell my brothers to go to Galilee, where they will see me.”.

When they went, some of the guards went into the city and reported all their experiences to the chief priests.

The chief priests and elders gathered together to discuss and gave a large amount of silver to the soldiers, saying,

You must say this: At night, while we were sleeping, his disciples came and stole him.

If these words are heard by the governor, we will persuade him to ensure that you are safe.

The soldiers received the silver coins and followed their instructions. This saying is said to be among the Jews until today.

Eleven disciples went to Galilee and arrived at the mountain that Jesus had agreed upon.

They saw Jesus and worshipped him. However, there are still doubts.

Jesus came forward and said to them, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me.”.

So go, make all the people my disciples, and baptize them in the name of the Father, Son, and the Holy Spirit. (Or baptizing them in the name of the Father and Son and the Holy Spirit)

Teach them to keep everything I command you, and I will always be with you until the end of the world.
