Gospel of Luke_Chapter 23

Everyone stood up and led Jesus to Pilate.

And he accused him, saying, We have seen this man tempting the people, prohibiting them from paying taxes to Caesar, and proclaiming himself Christ and king.

Pilate asked Jesus, “Are you the king of the Jews?”? Jesus answered and said, You are right.

Pilate said to the chief priests and the crowd, “I cannot find any guilt in this man.”.

But they said even more strongly, He incited the people and preached throughout Judea, from Galilee to this place.

As soon as Pilate heard it, he asked if this man was from Galilee?

Knowing that Jesus was under the jurisdiction of Herod, he sent him to Herod. At that time, Herod was in Jerusalem.

When Herod saw Jesus, he was overjoyed. Because I have heard about him, I have been wanting to see him for a long time. And expect to see him perform a miracle.

So I asked him a lot of questions. But Jesus did not answer a word.

The chief priests and scribes stood and strongly accused him.

Herod and his soldiers despised Jesus, mocked him, dressed him in splendid clothes, and sent him back to Pilate.

Previously, Herod and Pilate had enmity against each other. On that day, I became friends.

Pilate summoned the chief priests, the officials, and the people,

And he said to them, Send this man to me, saying that he is a temptation to the people. See, I have also accused him of your wrongdoing and questioned him before you, and have not found any wrongdoing against him.

Even Herod was the same, so he was sent back. It can be seen that he didn’t do anything damn.

Therefore, I will punish him and release him. (There are ancient scrolls here)

During this festival, the governor must release a prisoner to them

But everyone shouted together, ‘Get rid of this man and release Barabbas to us.’.

This Barabbas was imprisoned for committing rebellion and murder in the city.

Pilate was willing to release Jesus, so he persuaded them again.

Helplessly, they shouted, ‘crucify him, crucify him.’

Pilate said to them for the third time, “Why?”? What evil has this person done? I haven’t found any damn guilt in him. So I will punish him and release him.

They loudly urged Pilate to crucify Jesus. Their voices won,

Pilate finally made the decision as they requested.

Release the one who was imprisoned for committing rebellion and murder as they requested. Hand Jesus over to them and let them do as they please.

When he was taking Jesus, there was a man named Simon from Cyrene who came from the countryside. They caught him and placed the cross on him, making him carry it and follow Jesus.

Many people followed Jesus, including many women who mourned and wept for him.

Jesus turned to them and said, Women of Jerusalem, do not cry for me, cry for yourself and your children.

For the days are coming, and people will say, Blessed are those who do not bear children, those who have not conceived, and those who have not nurtured infants.

At that time, people will say to the mountains, ‘Fall on us.’. Tell the mountain to cover us.

If these things are done on juicy trees, what will happen to the withered trees?

Two more criminals were brought along with Jesus to be executed.

When they arrived at a place called the Skull Land, they nailed Jesus to the cross and two more criminals, one on the left and one on the right.

Then Jesus said, Father, forgive them. Because of what they have done, they do not know. The soldiers cast lots to divide his clothes.

The people stood there watching. The government also sneered at him, saying that he had saved someone else. If he were the Christ, chosen by God, he could save himself.

The soldiers also teased him and came forward to give him vinegar to drink,

If you are the king of the Jews, save yourself.

There is a sign above Jesus, and there is an ancient scroll written in Greek, Roman, and Hebrew script, which says, “This is the King of the Jews.”.

One of the two prisoners who were nailed together mocked him and said, “Aren’t you Christ?”? Can you save yourself and us.

The other one rebuked him in response and said, “Since you are all punished, are you not afraid of God?”?

We should. Because what we receive is commensurate with what we do. But this person has never done anything bad.

And he said, Jesus, remember me when you come to the kingdom.

Jesus said to him, Truly I tell you, today you will be with me in paradise.

At that time, around noon, darkness fell throughout the land until the ninth hour,

The sun has turned black. The curtain in the palace split in half from the middle.

Jesus shouted loudly, Father, I have given my soul into your hands. After saying these words, my anger broke.

When the centurion saw what had been done, he glorified God and said, Truly this is a righteous man.

The crowd gathered to watch, and when they saw what had happened, they all beat their chests and went back.

And all those who were familiar with Jesus, as well as the women who followed him from Galilee, stood far away, watching these things.

There was a man named Joseph, a council member who was kind and righteous.

He did not comply with everyone’s plans and actions. He was originally a Jew who had always hoped for the kingdom of God in the city of Arimathea.

This man went to Pilate and begged for the body of Jesus.

He took it down and wrapped it in fine linen, and placed it in a tomb made of stone, where no one had ever been buried.

That day was the day of preparation, and the Sabbath was approaching.

The women who came with Jesus from Galilee followed behind and saw the tomb and how his body was placed.

They went back and prepared spices and ointments. They rested on the Sabbath according to the commandment.
