Gospel of John_Chapter 8

So everyone went home. But Jesus went to the Mount of Olives.

Early in the morning, he returned to the palace. All the people came to him, and he sat down and taught them.

The scribes and Pharisees brought a woman who had been taken away while engaging in fornication and asked her to stand in the middle.

And he said to Jesus, Master, this woman was taken while she was engaged in fornication.

Moses commanded us in the law to stone such women to death. What do you think we should do to her?

They said these things to test Jesus, in order to have a right to accuse him. But Jesus bent down and wrote with his fingers on the ground.

They continued to ask him, but Jesus straightened up and said to them, Whoever is not guilty among you, let him first stone her.

So he bent down again and used his fingers to draw characters on the ground.

They heard these words and went out one by one, from old to young. Only Jesus remains. And the woman is still standing in the middle.

Jesus straightened up and said to her, Woman, where are those people? Has no one convicted you?

She said, Lord, there is none. Jesus said, I will not condemn you either. Go ahead. Never again commit crimes.

Jesus said to the crowd again, I am the light of the world. Those who follow me will not walk in darkness, but will receive the light of life.

The Pharisees said to him, “You are a witness to yourself.”. Your testimony is not true.

Jesus said, Although I bear witness for myself, my testimony is still true. Because I know where I come from and where I am going. But you don’t know where I come from or where I’m going.

You judge people by their physical appearance. I don’t judge people.

It’s about judging people, and my judgment is also true. Because I am not alone here, and the Father who sent me is with me.

It is also recorded in your law that the testimony of two is true.

I am a witness for myself, and the Father who sent me is also a witness for me.

They asked him, “Where is your father?”? Jesus replied, “You do not know me, nor do you know my Father.”. If you know me, you also know my father.

These words were spoken by Jesus during his teaching in the treasury of the temple. No one took him either. Because his time has not yet arrived.

Jesus said to them again, “I am going, you will find me, and you will die in sin.”. You cannot go to the place where I am going.

The Jews said, Will he commit suicide if he says you cannot come to the place where I am going?

Jesus said to them, “You are from below, I am from above.”. You belong to this world, I am not from this world.

So I say to you, You will die in sin. If you do not believe that I am the Christ, you will surely die in sin.

They asked him, “Who are you?”? Jesus said to them, This is what I told you from the beginning.

I have many things to talk about and judge you, but what sent me is true. What I hear from him, I will pass it on to the world.

They didn’t understand that Jesus was speaking of the Father.

So Jesus said, After lifting up the Son of Man, you will know that I am Christ, and that I do not do anything by myself. I speak these words according to what my father has taught me.

The one who sent me is with me. He did not leave me alone here, because I often do what he pleases.

When Jesus spoke these words, many people believed in him.

Jesus said to the Jews who believed in him, “If you always keep my way, you are truly my disciples.”.

You will know the truth, and the truth will grant you freedom.

They replied, “We are descendants of Abraham and have never been slaves to anyone.”. What do you say, you must be free?

Jesus answered and said, Truly, I tell you the truth. All who commit crimes are the servants of sin.

A servant cannot stay at home forever, a son will stay at home forever.

So if the Son of the Heavenly Father calls you free, then you are truly free.

I know you are descendants of Abraham, but you want to kill me. Because you can’t tolerate my way in your hearts.

What I said was what I saw with my father. What you have done is heard from your father.

They said, Our father is Abraham. Jesus said, If you are Abraham’s sons, you will do the things that Abraham did.

I have told you the truth that I heard with God, but now you are trying to kill me. This is not what Abraham did.

You do what your father does. They said, we were not born from debauchery. We have only one father who is God.

Jesus said, If God were your Father, you would love me. Because I am from God, and also from God, not from myself, but from Him who sent me.

Why don’t you understand what I’m saying? It’s just because you can’t listen to me.

You are out of your father the devil, but you will do your father’s desires. He was a murderer from the beginning and did not keep the truth. Because there is no truth in his heart, he lies out of himself, because he was originally a liar and also the father of those who lie.

I tell you the truth, and therefore you do not believe me.

Who among you can accuse me of guilt? Since I have told you the truth, why don’t you believe me?

Those who come from God will listen to God’s words. You do not listen, because you are not of God.

The Jews replied, “Isn’t it right for us to say that you are a Samaritan and have a demon attached to you?”?

Jesus said, I am not possessed by a demon. I respect my father, but you underestimate me.

I do not seek my own glory. There is someone who seeks glory for me to judge right from wrong.

Truly, I tell you the truth, if a person keeps my way, they will never see death.

The Jews said to him, “Now we know that you are possessed by a demon.”. Abraham died, and all the prophets also died. You also said that if a person keeps my way, they will never taste death.

Are you even older than our ancestor Abraham? He died, and all the prophets also died. What kind of person do you consider yourself?

Jesus replied, “If I glorify myself, my glory is nothing.”. My Father is the one who glorifies me, who is your God as you say.

You never knew him. But I know him. If I say I don’t know him, I am lying, just like you, but I know him and keep his way.

Your ancestor Abraham looked up to my day with joy and joy. Seeing it brings joy.

The Jews said, Have you ever seen Abraham before you are fifty years old?

Jesus said, Truly, I tell you the truth, before Abraham, there was me.

So they took stones to beat him. But Jesus hid and went out of the temple.
