Gospel of John_Chapter 7
After this, Jesus marched in Galilee, unwilling to march in Judea. Because the Jews wanted to kill him.
At that time, the Jewish Feast of Tabernacles was approaching.
Jesus’ brothers said to him, “Leave here and go up to Judea, so that your disciples may also see what you have done.”.
A person should show off their reputation and not act in the dark. If you do these things, make yourself known to the world.
Because even his brothers said these things because they did not believe him.
Jesus said to them, “My time has not yet come.”. It is often convenient for you to do so.
People cannot hate you, but they hate me. Because I have proven that what they have done is evil.
You guys go up to celebrate the festival. I won’t go up to this class now. Because I wasn’t full yet.
Jesus said these words and continued to live in Galilee.
But after his brothers went up, he also went up to celebrate the festival, not openly, as if secretly.
During the festival, the Jews searched for Jesus and said, He is there.
Everyone was discussing about him one after another. Some say he is a good person. Some say otherwise, he is deceiving everyone.
But no one openly talked about him because they were afraid of the Jews.
At the festival, Jesus went up to the temple to teach.
The Jews were amazed and said, “How can this person understand books without learning them?”?
Jesus said, My teaching is not mine, but it is the one who sent me.
If a person aspires to do his will, they will know whether this teaching is from God or whether I speak it out of myself.
People speak on their own, seeking their own glory. But seek the glory of the one who sent him, for he is true, and there is no unrighteousness in his heart.
Isn’t Moses preaching the law to you? But none of you keep the law. Why do you want to kill me?
The crowd replied, “You are possessed by a ghost.”. Who wants to kill you.
Jesus said, I have done something, and you all find it strange.
Moses preached circumcision to you (not from Moses, but from your ancestors), and therefore you also circumcised people on the Sabbath.
If a person is circumcised on the Sabbath, they must not violate the law of Moses. I call someone all right on the Sabbath, are you angry with me?
Do not judge right from wrong based on appearance, always judge right from wrong based on fairness.
Some of the people of Jerusalem said, Isn’t this the person they want to kill?
You see, he still preaches clearly, and they don’t say anything to him. Do the officials really know that this is Christ?
However, we know where this person comes from. But when Christ comes, no one knows where he comes from.
At that time, Jesus was teaching in the temple, shouting loudly, “You also know me, and you know where I come from.”. I didn’t come because of myself, but what sent me here was true. You don’t know him.
But I know him. Because I came from him, he also sent me.
They wanted to capture Jesus. But no one took action because his time had not yet arrived.
But many of them believed in him, saying, When Christ comes, can he do more miracles than this man?
When the Pharisees heard everyone discussing about Jesus like this, the chief priests and the Pharisees sent messengers to capture him.
So Jesus said, I will be with you for a short time, and then I will return to the place where I was sent.
You wanted to find me, but couldn’t find it. You cannot go to the place where I am located.
The Jews asked one another, “Where is this person going so that we cannot find him?”? Will he go to teach the Greeks to the Jews who are scattered among them?
He said, “You want to find me, but you can’t find me. You can’t go to where I am.”. What does this mean?
On the end of the festival, which is the greatest day, Jesus stood and shouted loudly, “If anyone is thirsty, come to me and drink.”.
Those who believe in me, as the scripture says, will flow rivers of living water from their belly.
Jesus said this about those who believe in him, to receive the Holy Spirit. At that time, the Holy Spirit had not yet been given, because Jesus had not yet received glory.
When the crowd heard these words, some said, This is truly the prophet.
Some say that this is Christ. But some also say, Did Christ come out of Galilee?
Isn’t it said in the scripture that Christ is a descendant of David, coming out of Bethlehem, David’s hometown?
So there was a division among the people because of Jesus.
Some of them are trying to capture him. Just no one took action.
The attendants returned to the chief priests and the Pharisees. They said to the servants, why didn’t you bring him here?
The servant replied that he had never spoken like this before.
The Pharisees said, Have you also been deceived?
Do officials or Pharisees believe in him?
But these people who do not understand the law are cursed.
Among them was Nicodemus, who had gone to Jesus before and said to them,
Does our law still condemn him without first listening to his confession and not knowing what he has done?
They replied, “Are you also from Galilee?”? Go and investigate, and you will know that there has never been a prophet in Galilee.
