Gospel of John_Chapter 21
After these things, Jesus appeared again to his disciples by the sea of Tiberias. How he appeared is recorded below.
Simon Peter, Thomas known as Didymus, Nathanael of Cana in Galilee, two sons of Zebedee, and two disciples were all together.
Simon Peter said to them, “I will go fishing.”. They said, we will also go with you. They went out and boarded the ship, but there was nothing going on that night.
At dawn, Jesus stood on the shore. But the disciples did not know it was Jesus.
Jesus said to them, Little ones, have you eaten anything. They replied, no.
Jesus said, Cast your net on the right side of the ship, and you will receive it. They cast their nets, but could not pull them up because there were many fish.
The disciple whom Jesus loved said to Peter, It is the Lord. At that time, Simon Peter was naked. As soon as he heard it was the Lord, he put on a coat and jumped into the sea.
The other disciples (not far from the shore, about two hundred cubits, measured in ancient times, one cubit is about half a foot today) pulled the net of fish from the small boat.
They went ashore and saw charcoal fire, fish on top, and cakes.
Jesus said to them, “Bring some of the fish you just caught.”.
Simon Peter went on board and pulled the net to the shore. The net was full of big fish, a total of 153. Although there are so many fish, the net has not broken.
Jesus said, Come and have breakfast. None of the disciples dared to ask him, who are you? Because I know it’s the Lord.
Jesus came and gave them bread and fish.
After Jesus was resurrected from the dead, he appeared to his disciples for the third time.
After they had finished breakfast, Jesus said to Simon Peter, Simon, the son of John (John Matthew 16:17 called Jonah), do you love me more than these? Peter said, Lord, yes. You know I love you. Jesus said to him, Feed my little lamb.
Jesus said to him the second time, Simon, son of John, do you love me? Peter said, Lord, yes. You know I love you. Jesus said, Shepherd my sheep.
The third time I said to him, Simon, son of John, do you love me? Peter said to him for the third time, “Do you love me?”? And he was sorrowful and said to Jesus, Lord, you know everything; you know that I love you. Jesus said, Feed my sheep.
I truly tell you that when you were young, you would tie your belt and travel freely, but when you were old, you would stretch out your hand and others would tie you up and take you to places you didn’t want to go.
Jesus said these things about how Peter would die and glorify God. After saying these words, he said to him, “Follow me.”.
Peter turned around and saw the disciple whom Jesus loved following, who was leaning against Jesus’ chest during dinner, saying, Lord, whose disciple is he who betrayed you.
Peter saw him and asked Jesus, “Lord, what will happen to this man?”?
Jesus said to him, “If I want him to wait until I come, what does it have to do with you? Follow me.”.
So these words spread among the brothers, saying that the disciple did not die. Actually, Jesus didn’t say he wouldn’t die. It means if I want him to wait until I come, what does it have to do with you.
This disciple is the one who bears witness to these things and records them. We also know that his testimony is true.
There are still many things that Jesus did, and if they were all written one by one, even the world would not be able to accommodate them.
