Acts of the Apostles_Chapter 27

Since Festus had made it a rule to send us by boat to Italy, he handed over Paul and other prisoners to a centurion named Julius in the royal camp.

There was a ship from the Aramaids that was going along the coast of the region around Asia. So we boarded the ship and set sail, with Aristarchus, a Macedonian from Thessalonica, accompanying us.

The next day, we arrived at Sidon. Julius treated Paul kindly and allowed him to go to his friends to receive their care.

We set sail from there again, and because the wind was not smooth, we followed Jubi Road and headed to the leeward shore.

After crossing the sea in front of Philea next to the house of Cheri, we arrived at Myra in the house of Lyu.

There, the centurion met a ship from Alexandria that was going to Italy, and he called us aboard that ship.

For several days, the ship sailed slowly and only reached the opposite side of Gnetus. Because he was stopped by the wind, he walked across from Samonius on the leeward shore of Crete.

We walked along the coast and only came to a place called Jia’ao. Not far from there, there is the city of Lacia.

After many days of walking, the fasting period had passed, and sailing was dangerous. Paul advised everyone,

Ladies and gentlemen, I see that during this voyage, not only will the cargo and ship be damaged and greatly damaged, but our lives will also be in danger.

But the centurion believed in the captain and the owner of the ship, and did not believe what Paul had said.

Moreover, due to the inconvenience of wintering in this Haikou, most of the people on board suggested that it would be better to set sail and leave this place, or to be able to spend the winter in Phoenicia. Phoenicia is an estuary of Crete, facing northeast on one side and southeast on the other.

At this moment, a slight south wind arose, and they thought they were proud, so they set anchor and walked close to Crete.

Not long after, a strong wind rushed down from the island, and the wind was called Yuragro.

The ship was caught by the wind, unable to withstand it, so we let the wind blow away.

Running along the leeward shore of a small island called Gao Da, where only a small boat was caught.

Since you have pulled the small boat up, tie the bottom of the boat with cables. I’m afraid I’ll have to stay shallow on the sandy beach at the bottom of the sea, so I’ll drop my canopy and let the boat drift away.

We were driven very urgently by the wind and waves, and the next day everyone threw the goods into the sea.

On the third day, they personally abandoned the equipment on the ship.

If the sun and stars do not appear for many days, and there are strong winds and waves urging us, our hope for salvation will be extinguished.

After many days without eating anything, Paul came out and stood among them, saying, Ladies and gentlemen, you should have listened to me and not left Crete, so as not to suffer such damage and destruction.

Now I advise you to rest assured. Not a single of your lives will be lost, but this ship will be lost.

Because of the God whom I belong to and serve, his angel stood beside me last night and said,

Paul, don’t be afraid, you will definitely stand in front of Caesar. And God has given you all the people who are sailing with you.

So everyone can rest assured that I believe in God, and as he says to me, things will also be accomplished.

We just need to collide on an island.

On the night of the fourteenth day, the ship was drifting back and forth in the Sea of Asia. Around midnight, the sailors thought it was approaching the dry land,

Just explore the depth, reaching a depth of twelve zhang. Moving forward slightly, explore the depth again, reaching a depth of nine zhang.

I’m afraid I’ll hit a stone, so I’ll drop four anchors from the stern, hoping for dawn.

The sailor wanted to escape from the ship and put the small boat in the sea, pretending to anchor from the bow.

Paul said to the centurion and the soldiers, If these people do not wait on board the ship, you will not be saved.

So the soldiers cut off the rope of the small boat and let it drift away.

At dawn, Paul advised everyone to eat and said, ‘You have been hanging around, enduring hunger, and not eating anything for fourteen days.’.

So I advise you to eat, it’s about saving your lives. Because each of you will not damage even one hair.

After Paul had said these words, he took the bread and gave thanks to God in front of everyone. He broke it open and ate it.

So they all let go and ate.

There are a total of 276 people on board the ship

When they were full, they threw the wheat from the ship into the sea to make it lighter.

At dawn, they didn’t know the place, but when they saw a bay with a shore to board, they discussed whether they could lure the ship in or not.

So he cut off the cable, abandoned the anchor in the sea, and at the same time released the rudder rope, pulled up the hood, and walked along the wind direction towards the shore.

But when encountering a place where two waters were sandwiched, the ship was put shallow. The bow of the ship remained fixed, while the stern was damaged by the strong force of the waves.

The soldiers mean to kill the prisoners, perhaps there is?? Water escapes.

But the centurion ordered the meeting to save Paul and not allow them to act arbitrarily?? Water, jump into the water and go ashore first.

The rest of the people can come ashore with boards or small pieces from the boat. So everyone was saved and put ashore.
