As it is written in the Book of Isaiah the prophet, “See, I will send my messengers before you to prepare the way.”.
In the wilderness, there is a voice shouting, Prepare the way of the Lord, make his way straight.
According to these words, John came and baptized in the wilderness, preaching the baptism of repentance, that sins may be forgiven.
All the land of Judea and the people of Jerusalem went out to John, confessing their sins and being baptized by him in the Jordan River.
John wore camel hair clothes, wore a belt around his waist, and ate locusts and wild honey.
He preached that there is someone who will come after me with greater abilities than me. Even if I bend down to untie his shoelaces, I am not worthy.
I baptize you with water, but he will baptize you with the Holy Spirit.
At that time, Jesus came from Nazareth in Galilee and was baptized by John in the Jordan River.
As soon as he came up from the water, he saw the sky crack open, and the Holy Spirit descended on him like a dove.
There is a voice from heaven that says, “You are my beloved son, and I am pleased with you.”.
The Holy Spirit then urged Jesus into the wilderness.
He was tempted by Satan for forty days in the wilderness. And be together with the beasts. And there are angels to serve him.
After John was imprisoned, Jesus came to Galilee to preach the gospel of God,
Saying, the days are full, and the kingdom of God is near. Repent and believe in the gospel.
Jesus walked along the seaside of Galilee and saw Simon and his brother Andrew casting a net in the sea. They were originally fishing.
Jesus said to them, Follow me, and I will make you catch people like fish.
They immediately abandoned the net and followed him.
Jesus walked a little further and saw James, the son of Zebedee, and John, his brother, mending their nets in the ship.
Jesus immediately called them. They left their father Zebedee and hired laborers on the ship and followed Jesus.
When he arrived at Capernaum, Jesus entered the synagogue on the Sabbath and taught.
Everyone was amazed by his lesson. Because he taught them like a man of authority, not like a scribe.
There is a person in the hall who is possessed by a filthy ghost. He shouted,
Jesus of Nazareth, what do we have to do with you? Are you coming to destroy us? I know who you are, the Holy One of God.
Jesus rebuked him, saying, Keep quiet, come out of this man.
The dirty ghost made the person go crazy for a while, shouted loudly, and then came out.
Everyone was surprised, so much so that they asked each other, “What is this? It is a new doctrine.”. He used his authority to command the evil spirits, and even the evil spirits obeyed him.
The reputation of Jesus spread throughout the four corners of Galilee.
As soon as they left the synagogue, they entered the house of Simon and Andrew with James and John.
Simon’s mother-in-law is lying down with a fever. Someone told Jesus.
Jesus took her hand and helped her up, and the heat subsided. She then served them.
At sunset, someone came to Jesus with all those who were sick and possessed by demons.
The people of Hecheng gathered at the door.
Jesus healed many people who were afflicted with various illnesses, and drove out many demons, prohibiting them from speaking, because demons knew him.
The next morning, before dawn, Jesus got up and went to the wilderness to pray there.
Simon and his companions chased after him.
When I met him, I said to him, “Everyone is looking for you.”.
Jesus said to them, “Let’s go somewhere else to the neighboring countryside, so that I can also preach there.”. Because I came out for this matter.
So he went into the synagogue throughout Galilee, preaching and driving out demons.
A leper came to Jesus and knelt down to him, saying, “If you are willing, you will be able to make me clean.”.
Jesus, being moved by compassion, reached out his hand and touched him, saying, I am willing, cleanse you.
The leprosy immediately left him, and he became clean.
Jesus sternly charged him and sent him away,
Tell him to be cautious and not to tell anyone anything. Just go and show your body to the priests, and because you have been cleansed, offer the gift commanded by Moses as evidence to everyone.
The man went out and spoke a lot, spreading this matter widely, so that Jesus could no longer openly enter the city and could only stay outside in the wilderness. People have come to him from all over.
