In the morning, the chief priests and the elders, scribes, and all the members of the council discussed and bound Jesus, then he was released and handed over to Pilate.

Pilate asked him, “Are you the king of the Jews?”? Jesus answered and said, You are right.

The chief priest accused him of many things.

Pilate asked him again, “Look, they have told you so many things, and you haven’t answered anything?”?

Jesus still did not answer, which surprised Pilate.

During this festival, the governor releases a prisoner to the people as requested.

There was a man named Barabbas who was bound with the rebels. When they were causing trouble, they had killed people.

Everyone went up to beg the governor to handle it for them as usual.

Pilate said, Do you want me to release the king of the Jews to you?

He knew that the chief priest had released Jesus out of jealousy.

But the chief priest instigated the crowd, preferring to release Barabbas to them.

Pilate also said, So what shall I do to the king of the Jews whom you call?

They shouted again, ‘Crucify him.’.

Pilate said, Why? What evil did he do? They shouted vigorously, saying, crucify him.

Pilate wanted to please everyone, so he released Barabbas to them, whipped Jesus, and handed him over to be crucified.

The soldiers led Jesus into the yamen courtyard. Summoned up the entire battalion of soldiers.

They dressed him in a purple robe and wove a crown of thorns for him to wear.

Take another reed, hit him on the head, spit on his face, bow down and worship him.

After teasing him, he took off his purple robe and put on his own clothes. He took him out to be crucified.

There was a Cyrenaean named Simon, the father of Alexander and Rufus, who came from the countryside and passed through that place. They forced him to go with them so that he could bear the cross of Jesus.

They took Jesus to the place of Golgotha, where he was found to be the place of the skull

Give Jesus wine mixed with myrrh, but he will not accept it.

So they nailed him to the cross and divided his clothes by lot to see who had what.

In the evening, because it was Preparation Day, the day before the Sabbath,

Joseph of Arimathea came, a distinguished judge who was also waiting for the kingdom of God. He boldly went in to Pilate and begged for the body of Jesus.

Pilate was surprised that Jesus had already died. Then he called the centurion and asked him how long Jesus had been dead.

After learning the truth from the centurion, he gave the body of Jesus to Joseph.

Joseph bought fine linen cloth, took Jesus down, wrapped him in fine linen cloth, and placed him in a tomb carved out of a rock. Roll over another stone to block the tomb door.
