But Amaziah refused to listen to these words. So King Joash of Israel came up and met with King Amaziah of Judah on the battlefield at Beth Shemesh in Judah.

King Joash of Israel captured Amaziah, the son of Joash, the son of Ahaziah, king of Judah, at Bethshemesh. He then came to Jerusalem and demolished the walls of Jerusalem, from the gate of Ephraim to the corner gate, totaling four hundred cubits,

Because the Lord saw that the Israelites were in great hardship, with no one to help them, no one trapped or free.
The Lord did not say that he would blot out the name of Israel from under heaven, but saved them through Jeroboam son of Joash.
