Min Shu Ji_Chapter 23
Balaam said to Balak, Build me seven altars here and prepare seven bulls and seven rams for me.
Balak will follow Balan’s words. Balak and Balaam offered a bull and a ram on each altar.
Balaam said to Balak, “Stand by your burnt offering, and I will go forward. Perhaps the Lord will come and meet me.”. I will tell you what he instructs me. So Balaam went up to a high place with no light.
God welcomes Balaam. Balaam said, I have prepared seven altars and offered one bull and one ram on each altar.
The Lord spoke to Balaam and said, “Return to Balak and say this and this.”.
He returned to Balak and saw him standing next to the burnt offering, along with the officials of Moab.
Balaam began to recite a poem and said, Balak led me out of Aram, and the king of Moab led me out of the eastern mountain, saying, Come, curse Jacob for me. Come, curse Israel with anger.
How can I curse those who are not cursed by God, and how can I curse those who are not cursed by the Lord,
I look at him from the peak and from the hills. This is a solitary person, not listed among all the people.
Who can count the dust of Jacob, and who can count the quarter of Israel? I wish to die like the death of a righteous man. I wish to end like a righteous person.
Balak said to Balaam, “What have you done to me?”? I brought you to curse my enemies, but to my surprise, you blessed them.
He replied, “Can I not be cautious in telling the word that the Lord has sent me?”?
Balak said, “Please go with me to another place where you can see them.”. You can’t see everything, you can only see the people on their border. Curse them for me there.
So he brought Balaam to the field of Zophim, went up to the top of Pisgah, and built seven altars. On each altar, offer a bull and a ram.
Balaam said to Balak, “Stand by this burnt offering until I go over there to meet the Lord.”.
The Lord came to Balaam and spoke to him. And he said, Return to Balak, and say so and so.
He returned to Balak and saw him standing next to the burnt offering. The envoys of Moab were also with him. Balak asked him, “What has the Lord said?”?
Balaam wrote a poem and said, Balak, get up and listen. Xipo’s son, listen to me.
God is not human, he will not lie, nor the Son of Man, he will not repent. Why doesn’t he just follow his words? Does he not want to achieve success in his speech?
I am ordered to bless. God has also blessed me, and I cannot reverse this matter.
He has not seen any sin in Jacob, nor any evil in Israel. The Lord his God is with him. There is a cheering king’s voice among them.
God led them out of Egypt. They seem to have the power of a bison.
There is no magic that can harm Jacob, nor divination that can harm Israel. Now some will speak of Jacob, that is, of Israel, saying, What great things God has done for him.
This people rise up like a lioness, standing up like a male lion, never eating wild food, never drinking the blood of the wounded, never lying down.
Balak said to Balaam, Do not curse them at all, nor bless them.
Balaam replied to Balak, “Didn’t I tell you that I must do whatever the Lord says?”?
Balak said to Balaam, “Come, I will lead you to another place, or perhaps God will like you to curse them for me there.”.
Balak led Balaam to the top of Peor, which looked down into the wilderness.
Balaam said to Balak, Build seven altars for me here, and prepare seven bulls and seven rams for me here.
Balak did as Balaam said, offering one bull and one ram on each altar.
