The Lord spoke to Moses, saying,

Make two trumpets of silver, both to be hammered out, to gather the assembly and set the camp on their way.

When the trumpet is sounded, the whole assembly shall come to you and gather at the entrance of the tabernacle of the congregation.

If only one blow is blown, all the leaders, the leaders of the Israelite army, will gather to you.

When the wind blows loudly, all the camps set out on the east side.

When it blows loudly again, the camps set out in the south. They will set out and blow loudly.

But when summoning the congregation, blow the trumpet, but not loudly.

Aaron’s descendants, who are priests, are to play this trumpet. This will be an eternal ordinance for your generations to come.

When you fight against your oppressors in your own land, let your trumpets be sounded with a loud voice, and you will be remembered before the Lord your God and saved from your enemies.

On your joyful days and festivals, as well as in the new moons, offer burnt offerings and peace offerings, and blow the trumpet as a memorial before your God. I am the Lord your God.

On the twentieth day of the second month in the second year, the cloud was collected from the tabernacle of the Testament.

The Israelites set out from the wilderness of Sinai, and the cloud stopped in the wilderness of Balaam.

This is their first journey forward, as the Lord commanded through Moses.

The flag of the camp of Judah marched forward first according to the army. The commander of the army was Nahshun, the son of Aminadab.

The commander of the army of the tribe of Issachar was Nethanel son of Suab.

Eliab son of Helon was in charge of the army of the tribe of Zebulun.

The tabernacle was dismantled, and the children of Gershon and the children of Merari carried it forward.

Following the army forward is the banner of the camp of Reuben. Elizur son of Shedeur was in charge of the army.

The leader of the army of the tribe of Simeon was Shelumiel son of Sulishaddai.

The leader of the army of the tribe of Gad was Eliasaph son of Deir.

The people of Koha carried the sacred objects and headed forward first. Before they arrived, the tent bearers had already set up the tent.

The standard of the camp of Ephraim marches forward according to the army, and Elishama son of Ammihud leads the army.

The leader of the army of the tribe of Manasseh was Gamaliel son of Bedazzur.

Abidan son of Gideoni was in charge of the army of the tribe of Benjamin.

At the end of the camps are the banners of the Dan camp, marching forward according to their armies. The commander of the army was Ahiezer son of Ammishaddai.

The leader of the Asher tribe’s army was Pagiel son of Oram.

The leader of the army of the tribe of Naphtali was Ahira son of Enan.

The Israelites marched forward according to their armies, and that’s all.

Moses said to his father-in-law Hoba, the son of Reuel the Midianite, ‘We will go on our way to the land that the Lord has promised.’. He once said, I will give this land to you. Now please come with us, and we will treat you well, because the Lord has promised good things to the Israelites.

Hoba replied, “I won’t go.”. I want to go back to my local tribe.

Moses said, “Please do not leave us.”. Because you know we’re going to camp in the wilderness, you can be our eye.

If you go with us, what good will the Lord do to us in the future, and what good will we do to you.

The Israelites left the mountain of the Lord and journeyed forward for three days. The Ark of the Lord traveled three days ahead, searching for a place to rest for them.

They left their camp and set out, and by day the cloud of the Lord was above them.

As the Ark of the Covenant moved forward, Moses said, O Lord, arise. May your enemies scatter. May those who hate you run away from you.

When the ark came to an end, he said, O Lord, return to the thousands of Israel.
