Gospel of Luke_Chapter 3

In the fifteenth year of the reign of Caesarea, Pontius Pilate became the governor of Judea, Herod became the king of Galilee, his brother Philip became the king of the regions of Etulia and Tracania, and Lysaniel became the king of Abilene,

John said to the people who came out to be baptized by him, ‘You species of venomous snakes, who instructed you to flee from future wrath?’?

Bring forth fruit that is worthy of repentance, and do not say in your own hearts, Abraham is our ancestor. I tell you, God can raise up children for Abraham from these stones.

John replied, “If you have two clothes, give them to the one you don’t have.”. Those who have food should do the same.

John said, do not take more than the prescribed amount.

Another soldier asked him, “What should we do?”? John said, Do not treat others with violence, nor deceive them; be content with your own wealth and food.

When the people hoped for Christ to come, they all doubted in their hearts whether John was the Christ.

John said, I am baptizing you with water, but there is one who is stronger than me coming, and I am not worthy to untie his shoelaces. He will baptize you with the Holy Spirit and fire.

He held a dustpan in his hand, intending to clear his field, gather the wheat in the barn, and burn up the bran with unquenchable fire.

John used many other words to persuade the people and preach the gospel to them.

But King Herod, who was enfeoffed, was rebuked by John because of his brother’s wife Herodias, and because of all his evil deeds,

Another addition was to imprison John.

All the people were baptized, and Jesus was also baptized. While praying, heaven opened,

The Holy Spirit descended upon him, shaped like a dove. And a voice came from heaven, saying, You are my beloved son, and I am pleased with you.

Judah is the son of Jacob, Jacob is the son of Isaac, Isaac is the son of Abraham, Abraham is the son of Tarah, Tarah is the son of Nahor,

Nahor is the son of Serug, Serug is the son of Rau, Rau is the son of Phal, Phal is the son of Eber, and Eber is the son of Salah,

Salah is the son of Canaan, Canaan is the son of Alphazzar, Alphazzar is the son of Shem, Shem is the son of Noah, and Noah is the son of Lamech,

Lamech was the son of Methuselah, Enoch was the son of Jared, Jared was the son of Maleliel, Canaan was the son of Enosh,

Enosh is the son of Seth, Seth is the son of Adam, and Adam is the son of God.
