Gospel of Luke_Chapter 2

In those days, Caesar Augustus had a decree to register all the people of the world.

This was the first time that Curinus had registered for the Syrian governor’s office.

Everyone returned to their respective cities and registered for registration.

Joseph also went up to Judea from the city of Nazareth in Galilee and came to the city of David, named Bethlehem, because he was a member of David’s family and household.

To register together with his hired wife Mary. At that time, Mary was already pregnant.

When they were there, Mary’s delivery date had arrived.

She gave birth to her first son, wrapped him in cloth and placed him in a stable because there was no place in the inn.

In the wilderness of Bethlehem, there were shepherds who kept watch over their flocks at night.

There is an angel of the Lord standing beside them, and the glory of the Lord shines on them from all sides. The shepherd was very afraid.

The angel said to them, “Do not be afraid. The great news I bring to you is concerning all the people.”.

For today in the city of David, a Savior has been born to you, the Lord Christ.

You will see a baby wrapped in cloth lying in a manger, and that will be the mark.

Suddenly, a large army of heavenly soldiers praised God with the angel, saying,

Glory to God in the highest place, and peace on earth to those whom he delights in. (There is an ancient scroll that says joy returns to people).

The angels left them and ascended to heaven, and the shepherds said to each other, “Let’s go to Bethlehem and see what has been done, as the Lord has instructed us.”.

They hurried away and found Mary and Joseph, along with the baby lying in the manger.

Since I saw it, I spread the angel’s words about this child.

And everyone who heard it was amazed at what the shepherd had said to them.

Mary kept all these things in her heart and pondered repeatedly.

The shepherds returned, glorifying God and praising him for everything they heard and saw, as the angel had said to them.

After eight days, he circumcised the child and named him Jesus, which was the name given by the angel before he was conceived.

After the days of purification were fulfilled according to the law of Zechariah, they brought the child up to Jerusalem to offer him to the Lord.

(As it is written in the law of the Lord, every firstborn male shall be called holy to the Lord.)

And according to the law of the Lord, either with a pair of doves, or with two young pigeons, offer sacrifices.

There was a man named Simon in Jerusalem, who was both righteous and devout. He had always hoped for the comfort of Israel, and the Holy Spirit was on him.

He received the revelation of the Holy Spirit, knowing that before he died, he would see the Christ established by the Lord.

He was moved by the Holy Spirit and entered the temple. Just as I met Jesus, his parents came in carrying their child and wanted to follow the rules of the law.

And Simon took him with his hand, and praised God, saying,

Lord, now according to your words, let your servant pass away safely.

Because my eyes have seen your salvation.

It is what you have prepared in front of all the people.

It is the light that illuminates the Gentiles, and the glory of your people Israel.

The parents of the child were amazed by the words of Jesus.

Simon blessed them and said to Mary, the mother of the child, ‘This child was set up to cause many people in Israel to fall and many to rise up.’. To be used as a slander. Let many people’s thoughts be revealed in their hearts. Your own heart will also be pierced by a knife.

There was also a prophetess named Anah, the daughter of Phaneil, a tribe of Asher. She was old and had lived with her husband for seven years since she married as a virgin, and then she became a widow.

I am now eighty-four years old and have been widowed for eighty-four years. I do not leave the temple, fast and pray, and serve God day and night.

At that moment, she came forward to give thanks to God and spoke about the child to all those who hoped for the redemption of Jerusalem.

After completing everything according to the law of the Lord, Joseph and Mary returned to Galilee and went to their own city, Nazareth.

The child gradually grows up, becomes strong, and full of wisdom. And the grace of God is upon him.

Every year during the Passover, his parents go up to Jerusalem.

When he was twelve years old, they went up according to the rules of the festival.

After the feast was fulfilled, they returned, and the child Jesus remained in Jerusalem. His parents are unaware.

I thought he had walked a day’s journey among his companions and was looking for him among his relatives and acquaintances.

Since he couldn’t find it, he went back to Jerusalem to find him.

After three days, I met him in the palace, sitting among the teachers, listening and asking questions.

Everyone who hears him marvels at his intelligence and his response.

His parents are very curious when they see it. His mother said to him, “My son, why do you do this to us?”? Look, your father and I are looking for you with sadness.

Jesus said, Why are you looking for me? Do you not know that I should consider the things of my father? Do you not know that I should be in my father’s house

They don’t understand what he said.

He went down with them and returned to Nazareth. And comply with them. His mother kept all these things in her heart.

The wisdom and stature of Jesus, as well as the love of God and people for him, all grew together.
