Exodus_Chapter 3
Moses took care of the flock of his father-in-law Jethro, the priest of Midian. One day, he led the flock to the wilderness and arrived at the mountain of God, which is Horeb.
The angel of the Lord appeared to Moses from the flames of the thorns. Moses looked and saw that the thorns were burned by fire, but they were not destroyed.
Moses said, “I will go over and see this great vision. Why hasn’t this thorn burned?”?
When the Lord God saw him going over to see, he called out from among the thorns, saying, Moses, Moses. He said, I’m here.
God said, Do not come near. When you take off your shoes, because the place you are standing on is a holy land.
And he said, I am the God of your father, the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob. Moses covered his face for fear of looking at God.
The Lord has said, I have indeed seen the suffering of my people in Egypt, and I have heard the cry of their people who are under the rule of the overseers. I knew their pain,
I came down to rescue them from the hands of the Egyptians and lead them out of that land, to a beautiful and spacious land flowing with milk and honey, to the land of the Canaanites, Hittites, Amorites, Berezites, Hivites, and Jebusites.
Now the cry of the Israelites has reached my ears, and I have seen how the Egyptians oppressed them.
Therefore, I will send you to Pharaoh, so that you may bring out my people, the Israelites, from Egypt.
Moses said to God, “Who am I to go to Pharaoh and bring out the Israelites from Egypt?”?
God said, I will be with you. After you bring the people out of Egypt, you will serve me on this mountain. This is the evidence that I sent you.
Moses said to God, ‘I will go to the Israelites and say to them,’ The God of your ancestors has sent me to you. ‘. If they ask me, what is his name? What should I say to them?
God said to Moses, “I am eternal.”. And he said, This is what you must say to the Israelites: He who has sent me to you.
And God said to Moses, This is what you must say to the Israelites: The Lord, the God of your ancestors, the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob, has sent me to you. The Lord is my name forever, and this is my memory forever.
Go and gather the elders of Israel, and say to them, The Lord, the God of your ancestors, the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob, has appeared to me, saying, Truly I have visited you, and I have seen how the Egyptians have treated you.
I also said, I will bring you out of the afflictions of Egypt, to the land of the Canaanites, Hittites, Amorites, Perizzites, Hivites, and Jebusites, to a land flowing with milk and honey.
They will listen to you. You and the elders of Israel are going to see the king of Egypt and say to him, ‘The Lord, the God of the Hebrews, has found us. Now let us go into the wilderness for a three-day journey to worship the Lord our God.’.
I know that even with a strong hand, the king of Egypt will not allow you to go.
I will stretch out my hand and do all my wonders in the midst of Egypt, attacking that land, and then he will allow you to go.
I will make you find favor in the eyes of the Egyptians, so that when you go, you will not go empty handed.
But every woman will ask her neighbors and the women living in her house for gold and silver vessels and clothing, so that they may wear them for your children. So you took away the wealth of the Egyptians.
