Exodus_Chapter 32

When the people saw that Moses had delayed coming down from the mountain, they gathered to…

When the people saw that Moses had delayed coming down from the mountain, they gathered together with Aaron and said to him, “Get up and make us gods, so that we can lead the way before us, because we do not know what has happened to Moses who led us out of the land of Egypt.”.

Aaron said to them, Go and take off the golden rings from the ears of your wives and children, and bring them to me.

So the people took off the golden rings from their ears and brought them to Aaron.

Aaron took it from their hands and cast a calf, using carving tools to make it. And they said, O Israel, this is the God who brought you out of the land of Egypt.

Aaron saw it and built an altar in front of the calf, announcing that he would observe a festival to the Lord tomorrow.

The next morning, the people got up to offer burnt offerings and peace offerings, sat down to eat and drink, and got up to play.

The Lord commanded Moses, ‘Go down, for your people, whom you brought out of the land of Egypt, have been corrupted.’.

They quickly deviated from the way I commanded them, and cast a calf for themselves, bowing down to it and offering sacrifices, saying, O Israel, this is the God who brought you out of the land of Egypt.

The Lord said to Moses, “I see this people as a stiff necked people.”.

Let me alone, and I will be angry with them and destroy them, making your descendants a great nation.

Moses pleaded with the Lord his God, saying, O Lord, why are you angry with your people? You brought out this people from the land of Egypt with your strong and mighty hands.

Why did the Egyptians argue that he led them out to bring disaster upon them, to kill them in the mountains and to destroy them from the earth. Please change your mind and refrain from your fierce anger, repent, and do not bring disaster to your people.

Remember your servants Abraham, Isaac, and Israel. You have sworn by yourself, saying, ‘I will make your descendants as many as the stars in heaven, and all the land I have promised will be given to your descendants, and they will inherit it forever.’.

So the Lord repented and did not bring the calamity he had said to his people.

Moses turned around and went down the mountain, holding two tablets of the Dharma in his hand. This version is written on both sides, with characters on both sides,

It is the work of God, and the characters are written by God and engraved on the plate.

As soon as Joshua heard the shouting of the people, he said to Moses, ‘There is a sound of war in the camp.’.

Moses said, “This is not the sound of victory or defeat, but the sound of singing.”.

Moses approached the camp and saw the calf and people dancing. He was furious and threw the two tablets at the foot of the mountain, shattering them,

And he burned the calves they had cast with fire, ground them to powder, and sprinkled them on the water surface for the Israelites to drink.

Moses said to Aaron, “What have these people done to you?”? You have caused them to fall into great sin.

Aaron said, “Please, my lord, do not be angry.”. You know, these people are dedicated to doing evil.

They said to me, ‘Make us gods to lead us on the way, because we do not know what has happened to Moses who led us out of the land of Egypt.’.

I said to them, whoever has a golden ring can take it off, and they gave it to me. I threw the golden ring into the fire, and the calf came out.

Moses saw the people being reckless (Aaron indulged them, causing them to be mocked among his enemies),

And he stood at the gate of the camp, saying, All that belongs to the Lord shall come to me. So the descendants of Levi gathered together with him.

He said to them, ‘This is what the Lord, the God of Israel, says:’ Each of you, cross your sword around your waist and go back and forth in the camp, from one gate to another, killing your brothers, companions, and neighbors. ‘.

The descendants of Levi did as Moses said. About three thousand people were killed on that day.

Moses said, Cleanse yourselves today and be holy to the Lord. Let each one attack his son and brother, so that the Lord may bless you.

On the second day, Moses said to the people, “You have committed a great sin.”. I will now go up to the Lord, perhaps I can make atonement for you.

Moses returned to the Lord and said, Alas, this people have committed great sins and have made themselves golden images.

If you are willing to forgive their sins… Otherwise, please erase my name from the book you have written.

The Lord said to Moses, “Whoever sins against me, I will erase their name from my book.”.

Now go and lead this people to the place I have told you, and my messengers will lead the way before you. However, on the day of my punishment, I will punish their sins.

The reason why the Lord killed the people was because they made calves with Aaron.
