Exodus_Chapter 7

The Lord said to Moses, ‘I will make you a substitute for God before Pharaoh, and your brother Aaron will speak for you.’.

Whatever I command you, you must say. Your brother Aaron will say to Pharaoh, ‘Let the Israelites go out of his land.’.

I will harden Pharaoh’s heart and do many miracles and wonders in the land of Egypt.

But Pharaoh will not listen to you, and I will stretch out my hand and punish Egypt heavily, bringing out my army and the people of Israel from the land of Egypt.

When I stretch out my hand against Egypt and bring out the Israelites from among them, the Egyptians will know that I am the Lord.

Moses and Aaron did this, just as the Lord commanded them, so they did.

When Moses and Aaron spoke to Pharaoh, Moses was eighty years old and Aaron was eighty-three years old.

The Lord spoke to Moses and Aaron, saying,

If Pharaoh says to you, do a strange thing. Tell Aaron, ‘Throw the staff before Pharaoh and make it a snake.’.

Moses and Aaron went in to Pharaoh and did as the Lord had commanded them. Aaron threw his staff before Pharaoh and his servants, and it turned into a snake.

So Pharaoh summoned wise men and sorcerers, who were Egyptian magicians and did the same with their witchcraft.

They each threw down their own staff, and it turned into a snake, but Aaron’s staff swallowed up their staff.

Pharaoh’s heart was hardened and he refused to listen to Moses and Aaron, as the Lord had said.

The Lord said to Moses, Pharaoh is stubborn in his heart and refuses to let the people go.

Tomorrow morning, he will go out to the water’s edge. You must meet him by the river and hold the staff that has turned into a snake in your hand,

And he said to him, The Lord, the God of the Hebrews, has sent me to you, saying, Let my people go, that they may serve me in the wilderness. Until now, you still don’t listen.

This is what the Lord says: “I will strike the water in the river with the rod in my hand, and the water will turn into blood. Therefore, you will know that I am the Lord.”.

The fish in the river will die, and the river will have a foul smell. The Egyptians will detest eating the water in this river.

The Lord spoke to Moses, saying to Aaron, ‘Stretch out your rod over all the waters of Egypt, over their rivers, ponds, and ponds, so that the waters may turn into blood.’. Throughout Egypt, there will be blood in both wooden and stone vessels.

Moses and Aaron did as the Lord commanded them. Aaron raised his staff and struck the water in the river in front of Pharaoh and his servants, and all the water in the river turned into blood.

The fish in the river have died, and the river has become foul smelling. The Egyptians cannot eat the water in this river, and there is blood everywhere in Egypt.

Egypt’s magicians also do the same with their witchcraft. Pharaoh’s heart was hardened and he refused to listen to Moses and Aaron, as the Lord had said.

Pharaoh turned around and entered the palace, but he did not take this matter to heart.

The Egyptians are digging on both sides of the river to get water to drink, because they cannot drink the water in this river.

After the Lord struck the river, it was seven days long.
