Exodus_Chapter 20

And God commanded all these words,

I am the Lord your God, who brought you out of the land of Egypt, the house of slavery.

You must not have any other gods besides me.

Do not carve idols for yourself, nor do you make any likeness like a hundred things in heaven, earth, earth, or water.

Do not bow down to those idols, nor serve them, for I, the Lord your God, am a jealous God. I will punish those who hate me, from the Father and the Son until the third and fourth generations,

I will show mercy to those who love me and keep my commandments for a thousand generations.

Do not take the name of the Lord your God in vain, for the Lord will not hold anyone innocent who takes the name of the Lord in vain.

Remember the Sabbath and keep it holy.

Six days I will toil and do all your work,

But the seventh day is a Sabbath to be observed to the Lord your God. On this day, you and your children, your servants and maidservants, your livestock, and the travelers living in your city shall not do any work,

Because within six days, the Lord made heaven, earth, sea, and all things in it, and rested on the seventh day. Therefore, the Lord blessed the Sabbath and declared it a holy day.

Honor your parents, so that your days may be long in the land that the Lord your God has given you.

Do not kill.

Do not commit adultery.

Do not steal.

No false testimony or framing is allowed.

Do not covet a man’s house, nor his wife, servants, donkeys, or any of his possessions.

When all the people saw thunder, lightning, the sound of horns, and smoke coming from the mountains, they trembled and stood far away.

And he said to Moses, Speak to us, and we will hear; do not let God speak to us, or we may die.

Moses said to the people, Do not be afraid, for God has come to test you, so that you may always fear him and not sin.

So the people stood far away, and Moses approached the darkness where God was.

The Lord said to Moses, “Say to the Israelites, ‘You have seen me speaking to you from heaven.'”.

You shall not make any gods to match me, nor shall you make gods of gold or silver for yourselves.

Build an earthen altar for me, and offer burnt offerings and peace offerings of cattle and sheep on it. Wherever my name is written, I will go there and bless you.

If you build a stone altar for me, do not use chiseled stones, because if you move furniture on it, it will defile the altar.

You cannot go up to my altar with steps, so as not to expose your lower body.
