Exodus_Chapter 21

This is the law that you will establish before the people:,

If you buy a Hebrew as a servant, he will serve you for six years, and in the seventh year he will be free to go out for free.

If he comes alone, he can go alone; if he has a wife, his wife can go out with him.

If his master gives him a wife, and the wife gives him a son or daughter, the wife and children shall belong to his master, and he shall go out alone.

If the servant openly says that I love my master, my wife, and children, and do not want to go out freely.

His master shall bring him to the judge, and bring him to the door, near the door frame, and pierce his ears with an awl, and he shall serve his master forever.

If a person sells their daughter as a maid, the maid shall not go out like a male servant.

The master has chosen her to be his own, and if he does not like her, he will allow her to be redeemed. Since the master has dealt with her deceitfully, he has no authority to sell her to foreigners.

If the master chooses her for his own son, he should treat her like a daughter.

If one marries another, the woman’s food, clothing, and other good things must not be reduced.

If she doesn’t do these three things to her, she can go out for free without any money to redeem.

Whoever beats someone to death must be put to death.

If a person does not lie in ambush to kill, but God gives it into his hands, then I will set up a place where he can flee.

If a man kills his neighbor by any deceit, even if he escapes to my altar, let him be taken and put to death.

Those who beat their parents must be put to death.

Abducting people, selling them, or leaving them under his command, he must be put to death.

Those who curse their parents must be put to death.

If people argue with each other and hit one with a stone or fist, they will not die, but they will lie down in bed,

If he can stand up and walk out with a cane again, then hitting him will be considered innocent, but he must compensate for the time he has wasted with money and be completely cured.

If a person beats a servant or maidservant with a stick and immediately dies under his hands, he will be punished.

If you die in one or two days, you can avoid punishment because it was bought with money.

If people fight against each other and harm a pregnant woman, even to the point of having a miscarriage, but then do no other harm, then those who harm her will be punished according to what the woman’s husband wants and according to the judgment of the judge.

If there is any harm, we must pay for it with our lives,

Eye for eye, tooth for tooth, hand for hand, foot for foot,

To burn back, to injure back, to strike back.

If a person breaks one eye of his servant or maid, he shall let him go and be free because of his eye.

If one of his servant or maidservant’s teeth is knocked out, he will be allowed to go free because of his teeth.

If a cow touches a man or a woman to death, it must be stoned to death, but its meat must not be eaten. The owner of the cow is considered innocent.

If the ox has always been a troublemaker and someone reports to the owner of the ox, but he does not tie the ox, causing a man or a woman to be struck to death, then the ox will be stoned to death, and the owner of the ox will also be put to death.

If you punish him for the price of redeeming his life, he will redeem his life according to the punishment.

Regardless of whether a cow touches a person’s son or daughter, it shall be dealt with according to this law.

If an ox touches a servant or a maid, it shall give thirty shekels of silver to their master, and the ox shall be stoned to death.

If a person leaves the well open or excavates it without covering it, and a cow or donkey falls inside,

Mr. Jing will compensate his owner with money, and the dead livestock will belong to him.

If one person’s ox harms another’s ox to the point of death, they shall sell the live ox and divide the value equally, and also divide the dead ox equally.

If a person knows that this ox has always been a thorn in the side, and the owner does not tie it up, he will return it to the ox, and the dead ox will be his own.
