Deuteronomy_Chapter 29
This is the word that the Lord commanded Moses to make a covenant with the Israelites in the land of Moab, beyond the covenant he made with them in Mount Horeb.
Moses summoned all Israel and said to them, “You have seen all the things that the Lord has done in the land of Egypt before your eyes to Pharaoh, all his servants, and all his land.”,
It is the great experiments and miracles you have witnessed with your own eyes, as well as those great wonders.
But to this day, the Lord has not made your hearts understand, your eyes see, and your ears hear.
I led you in the wilderness for forty years, and your clothes were not worn out, nor were your shoes worn out.
You didn’t eat cakes, nor did you drink sake or strong liquor. This will make you aware that the Lord is your God.
When you came to this place, King Sihon of Heshbon and King Og of Bashan came out to fight against us, and we killed them,
I took their land and gave it to the tribes of Reuben, Gad, and Manasseh as an inheritance.
Therefore, be careful to keep and do the words of this covenant, so that you may prosper in all your ways.
Today your leaders, tribal leaders, elders, officials, male Israelites, your wives, children, and sojourners in the camp, as well as those who chop wood and carry water for you, stand before the Lord your God,
In order for you to obey the covenant that the Lord your God has made with you today and the oath he has sworn to you.
So he will make you his people today, and he will be your God, as he promised you and swore to your ancestors Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob.
I not only make this covenant with you, but also make this oath,
I also make this covenant and swear with all those who stand before the Lord our God with us, and those who are not with us today.
We once lived in the land of Egypt and passed through the nations, as you know.
You also see the detestable things among them, and their idols of wood, stone, gold, and silver
Lest any of you, male or female, or tribal or tribal leaders, turn your hearts away from the Lord our God today and serve the gods of those nations. And I am afraid that any evil root among you will give rise to bitter vegetables and wormwood,
Upon hearing these cursed words, I still boasted in my heart, saying, Although I have acted stubbornly in my heart, causing trouble to all, I am still safe.
The Lord will not forgive him. The anger and indignation of the Lord will erupt against him like smoke, and all the curses written in this book will be imposed on him. The Lord will blot out his name from under heaven,
And according to all the curses written in the book of the law, they will separate him from all the tribes of Israel, causing him trouble.
Your descendants, the descendants who will rise up in the future, and the outsiders who come from afar, will see the plagues of this land and the diseases that the Lord has brought upon it,
And I saw sulfur, salt brine, and traces of fire all over the land, without cultivation or yield, not even grass growing, just like Sodom, Gomorrah, and Ammah, which the Lord overthrew in wrath.
The people who see it, even the people of all nations, will ask, “Why has the Lord done this to this place?”? What does this intense anger mean?
People will answer, ‘Because the people of this land have abandoned the covenant they made with the Lord, the God of their ancestors, when they brought them out of the land of Egypt.’,
Going to serve and worship other gods that the Lord did not arrange for them, whom he did not know before.
So the anger of the Lord was raging against this land, and he brought down all the curses written in this book on this land.
In anger, anger, and great indignation, the Lord uprooted them from their land and threw them into another land, just as they are today.
The hidden things belong to the Lord our God. Only the obvious things belong to us and our descendants forever, so that we may walk in all the words of this law.
