The Lord your God brought you into the land to be taken as an inheritance, and drove out many nations from before you, including the Hittites, the Gegashites, the Amorites, the Canaanites, the Perizzites, the Hivites, and the Jebusites, seven nations that were stronger than you.

When the Lord your God hands them over to you to kill, then you will destroy them completely. Do not make a covenant with them or have mercy on them.

Do not marry them. Do not marry your daughter to their son, and do not let your son marry their daughter.

For he will cause your son to turn away from following the Lord and serve other gods, so that the anger of the Lord may rage against you and quickly destroy you.

But do this to them: demolish their altars, smash their pillars, cut down their wooden poles, and burn their carved idols with fire.

Because you are a holy people to the Lord your God. The Lord your God has chosen you as his own people from all the people on earth.

The Lord loved you and chose you not because your number was greater than others, for your number was the least among all nations.

Because the Lord loved you and wanted to keep his oath to your ancestors, he brought you out with a strong hand to redeem you from the house of slavery and deliver you from the hand of Pharaoh, the king of Egypt.

So, you must know that the Lord your God is God, a faithful God. Keep the covenant and show mercy to those who love him and keep his commandments for a thousand generations.

To avenge those who hate him face to face and exterminate them. Those who hate him will repay them without delay.

Therefore, you must keep and do the commandments, laws, and ordinances that I command you today.

Indeed, you have obeyed these laws and diligently followed them, and the Lord your God will keep the covenant and show mercy according to his oath to your ancestors.

He will love you and bless you, increasing your number. He will also bless the land that he swore to your ancestors to give you, the fruits of the land, your grain, new wine, oil, calves, and lambs.

You will receive blessings over all the people. Your men and women have nothing that cannot be raised, and your livestock have nothing that cannot be raised.

The Lord will take away all your illnesses from you. All the evil diseases that you know about Egypt will not be inflicted on you, but on all those who hate you.

You shall destroy all the people whom the Lord your God will deliver to you. You must not spare them. You shall not serve their gods, for this will become a trap for you.

If you say in your heart, ‘These nations have more people than me, how can I drive them out?’?

Do not fear them, but firmly remember what the Lord your God did to Pharaoh and all the land of Egypt,

The great trials, miracles, wonders, and mighty hands and outstretched arms that you have seen with your own eyes are all the things that the Lord your God used to bring you out. The Lord your God will do the same to all the people whom you fear.

And the Lord your God will send hornets to fly among them until the remaining ones who hide before you are destroyed.

Do not be afraid of them, for the Lord your God is a great and terrible God among you.

The Lord your God will gradually drive out the people of these nations from before you. You must not destroy them quickly, or there will be more beasts in the wild that will harm you.

The Lord your God will hand them over to you and greatly disturb them until they are destroyed.

And I will give their kings into your hands, and you will destroy their names from under heaven. No one will be able to stand before you until you destroy them.

The gods they carved shall be burned with fire. Do not covet the gold and silver on it, nor collect it, so that you may not fall into a trap. This is what the Lord your God detests.

You shall not bring abominable things into your home. Otherwise, you will become something to be destroyed, just like that thing. You must be extremely disgusted, extremely disgusted, because this is something to be destroyed.
