Deuteronomy_Chapter 11
Love the Lord your God and keep his commands, laws, ordinances, and commandments.
You should know today that I am not speaking to your children. Because they do not know, nor have they seen the discipline, majesty, and mighty hand of the Lord your God, and the outstretched arm,
And the miracles and wonders he did to Pharaoh the king of Egypt and all his land in Egypt.
I have not seen how he treated the Egyptian army, chariots and horses, and how the Lord caused the waters of the Red Sea to flood them and destroy them, even to this day, when they pursued you,
And what he did to you in the wilderness, so that you came to this place.
I did not see how he treated Dathan and Abiram, the sons of Eliab, the children of Reuben, and how the earth opened its mouth among the Israelites, swallowing them and their families, as well as their tents and all their living creatures.
Only you have seen with your own eyes all the great things that the Lord has done.
Therefore, keep all the commandments that I command you today, so that you may be brave enough to enter and obtain the land you desire,
And that your days may be long in the land that the Lord swore to your ancestors to give to them and their descendants. That is a land flowing with milk and honey.
The land where you are going to enter for inheritance is not like the land of Egypt where you came out. You sow there, water with your feet, like watering a vegetable garden.
The land where you are going to inherit is a land with mountains and valleys, nourished by rain,
It is the favor of the Lord your God. From the beginning of the year to the end of the year, the eyes of the Lord your God always look upon that land.
If you pay attention to the commandments I command you today, love the Lord your God, and serve him with all your heart and soul,
He will bring autumn rain and spring rain on your land at the right time, so that you can collect grain, new wine, and oil
And I will make you eat and be full, and I will make the fields grow grass for your livestock.
Be careful not to be deceived in your hearts and turn away from the right path to serve and worship other gods.
The anger of the Lord is burning against you, causing the heavens to be closed and not to rain, and the earth to not yield, causing you to perish quickly on the beautiful land that the Lord has given you.
Keep my words in your heart, in your mind, tie them in your hands as a sign, and put them on your forehead as scriptures.
Teach your children also, whether they sit at home, walk on the road, lie down, or get up, talk about it.
And write it on the doorframe of the house and on the city gate,
So that your days and those of your descendants may increase in the land that the Lord swore to your ancestors to give them, as many days as the heavens cover the earth.
If you pay attention to and keep all these commandments that I command you, love the Lord your God, walk in his ways, and trust in him,
He will drive out all these nations from before you, even the greater and stronger nations than you, and you will also possess their land.
Every place where your feet tread will belong to you. From the wilderness and Lebanon, and from the great river Euphrates to the western sea, they will be your borders.
No one will be able to stand before you. The Lord your God will bring fear and terror upon the inhabitants of the land where you tread, as he has said.
See, I have set before you today the words of blessings and curses.
If you obey the commandments of the Lord your God, which I have commanded you today, you will be blessed.
If you do not obey the commandments of the Lord your God and deviate from the way I command you today, and serve other gods that you have never known before, you will suffer disaster.
When the Lord your God leads you into the land you are going to possess, you shall declare your blessings on Mount Kirizim and your curses on Mount Ebal.
Aren’t these two mountains on the other side of the Jordan River, at sunset, facing Gilgal in the land of the Canaanites living in Arabah, near the oak tree of Mori?
You shall cross the Jordan River and enter to possess the land that the Lord your God has given you as an inheritance, and dwell in that land.
You must keep and follow all the laws and regulations that I have set before you today.
