After this, Jesus crossed the Sea of Galilee, which is the Sea of Tiberias.

Many people followed him because they saw the miracles he did on the sick.

Jesus went up to the mountain and sat there with his disciples.

At that time, the Jewish Passover was approaching.

When Jesus lifted up his eyes and saw many people coming, he said to Philip, Where should we buy bread for these people to eat?

He said this to test Philip. He knew how to do it himself.

Philip replied, “Even a loaf of twenty taels of silver is not enough for each of them to eat a little.”.

One of his disciples, Andrew, the brother of Simon Peter, said to Jesus,

There is a child here, carrying five barley cakes and two fish. What is it to just distribute it to these many people?

Jesus said, “Tell everyone to sit down.”. There was a lot of grass in that place, so everyone sat down. The number is about 5000.

Jesus picked up the bread, gave thanks, and distributed it to the person sitting there. The same goes for dividing fish, they all follow what they want.

When they were full, Jesus said to his disciples, Pack up the remaining fragments, so that there may not be any waste.

They then picked up the fragments of the five barley cakes that were left after the people had eaten them, and filled them with twelve baskets.

Everyone saw the miracle that Jesus had done. Just say, this is really the prophet who will come to the world.

Jesus, knowing that everyone was coming to force him to become king, retreated alone to the mountain again.

In the evening, his disciples went down to the seaside,

I got on the ship and wanted to cross the sea towards Capernaum. It was already dark, and Jesus had not yet come to them.

Suddenly, a strong wind blew and the sea began to churn.

The disciples rowed for about ten miles and saw Jesus walking on the sea, gradually approaching the ship. They were afraid.

Jesus said to them, It’s me. don’t be afraid

The disciples liked to take him into the boat, and the boat immediately arrived at the place they were going to.

On the second day, the people standing on the other side of the sea knew that there was no other boat there, only a small boat. They also knew that Jesus did not go into the boat with his disciples, but rather the disciples themselves.

However, a few small boats came from Tiberias and approached the place where the Lord gave thanks and distributed bread for people to eat.

When the crowd saw that Jesus and his disciples were not there, they got into the boat and went to Capernaum to find Jesus.

After finding it on the other side of the sea, he said to him, Rabbi, when did you come here.

Jesus answered and said, Truly, I tell you the truth, you did not seek me because you saw a miracle, but because you were filled with bread.

Do not labor for the perishable food, but labor for the food that endures forever, which the Son of Man will give you. Because the Son of Man is confirmed by the Father and God.

The crowd asked him, “What should we do to be considered God’s work?”?

Jesus answered and said, Believing in what God has sent is the work of God.

They also said, What miracle do you do that we may see and believe in you. What exactly are you doing?

Our ancestors ate manna in the wilderness, as it is written, He gave them bread from heaven to eat.

Jesus said, Truly, I tell you the truth, the bread from heaven was not given to you by Moses, but by my Father who gave you the true bread from heaven.

Because the bread of God is the one that comes down from heaven to give life to the world.

They said, Lord, always give us this bread.

Jesus said, I am the bread of life. Those who come to me must not be hungry. Believe me, never thirst.

I just told you that you have seen me, but still don’t believe me.

All who the Father has given me will come to me. I never abandon anyone who comes to me.

Because I came down from heaven not to do according to my own will, but to do according to the will of the one who sent me.

The meaning of the one who sent me is that he gave me not a single thing, so that I may not lose it, but in the end he will raise him up.

Because my Father’s intention is to grant eternal life to all who see the Son and believe. And in the end, I will resurrect him.

The Jews privately discussed Jesus because he said, “I am the bread that came down from heaven.”.

Saying, Isn’t this Jesus, the son of Joseph? Don’t we recognize his parents? How can he say now that I came down from heaven?

Jesus replied, “Do not let everyone talk.”.

If it weren’t for the attractive father who sent me here, there would be no one who could come to me. Those who come to me will be resurrected in the end.

It is written in the Book of Prophets that they shall all receive the teaching of God. Whoever hears the teaching of the Father and learns, come to me.

This does not mean that some have seen the Father, but those who come from God have seen the Father.

Truly, I tell you the truth, those who believe have eternal life.

I am the food of life.

Your ancestors ate manna in the wilderness, but still died.

This is the grain that comes down from heaven, so that people can eat it and not die.

I am the food of life descending from heaven. If a person eats this food, they will live forever. The food I am going to give is my flesh, which is given for the life of mankind.

Therefore, the Jews argued among themselves, saying, How can this man give us his flesh to eat?

Jesus said, Truly, I tell you the truth, if you do not eat the flesh of the Son of Man or drink his blood, there will be no life in you.

Those who eat my meat and drink my blood have eternal life. I will resurrect him in the end.

My meat is really edible, and my blood is really drinkable.

The person who eats my meat and drinks my blood is always within me, and I am also always within him.

Just as the living Father sent me and I live because of him, so those who eat my flesh will also live because of me.

This is the grain that comes down from heaven. Those who eat this food will live forever, unlike your ancestors who ate manna and still died.

These words were taught by Jesus in the synagogue of Capernaum.

Many of his disciples heard this and said, “This is very difficult, who can hear it?”?

Jesus knew in his heart that his disciples were disputing these words, so he said to them, Does this make you despise it? (Disliking the original text for falling)

What if you see the Son of Man ascend to his original place?

What makes a person live is the spirit, and the body is useless. What I say to you is spirit, it is life.

It’s just that there are people among you who don’t believe. Jesus knew from the beginning that whoever did not believe in him would betray him.

Jesus also said, Therefore I have said to you, If it were not for the gift of my Father, no one could come to me.

From then on, many of his disciples withdrew and no longer walked with him.

Jesus said to the twelve disciples, Are you also going?

Simon Peter replied, “Lord, you have the way of eternal life. To whom do we belong?”?

We have already believed and know that you are the Holy One of God.

Jesus said, Have I not chosen your twelve disciples? But one of you is a devil.

Jesus spoke of Judas the son of Simon the Galilean. He was originally one of the twelve disciples, but later he was going to betray Jesus.
