The land that the tribe of Judah obtained by casting lots according to their families was in the far south, to the border of Edom, and to the south, to the wilderness of Zin.

Their southern boundary starts from the end of the Salt Sea, which is the southward branching of the sea,

The eastern boundary extends from the southern edge of the Salt Sea to the mouth of the Jordan River. The northern boundary starts from the mouth of the Jordan River at the mouth of the sea,

Go up to the valley of the son of Hinnom, near the southern border of Jebus (which is Jerusalem). And he went up to the top of the mountain to the west of the Xinnen Valley, which is at the far north border of the Rephain Valley.

And it extended from the top of the mountain to the water source of Nephtoah, to the cities of Mount Ephron, and then to Barak (which is Kiriath Jearim).

Then it went west from Barak to Mount Seir, and continued to the north of Mount Jearim (which is Gizaron). Then he went down to Bethshemesh and passed through Tingna,

It extends to the north of Ekron, extends to Schkelon, and continues to Mount Barak. It leads directly to Jabiniel and ends at the sea.

The western boundary is the sea and the land near the sea. This is the border of the land obtained by the Jews according to their clans on all sides.

Joshua gave a portion of the land of Judah, which is Kiriath Aba, to Caleb son of Jephunneh, as the Lord had commanded. Aba was the ancestor of the Anak tribe (Kiriath Aba, which is Hebron).

And Caleb drove out the three chiefs of the Anak tribe from there, namely Sheshai, Ahiman, and Talmai.

And he went up from there, attacking the inhabitants of Debir, which was formerly named Kiriath Sepher.

Caleb said, Whoever can attack Kiriath Sepher and take the city, I will give him my daughter Achsah as his wife.

Othniel, the son of Kenaz, Caleb’s brother, took the city, and Caleb gave him his daughter Absa as his wife.

When Absa passed by the door, he urged her husband to ask her father for a piece of land. Absa lifted her donkey and Caleb asked her, “What do you want?”.

She said, Bless me, and since you have placed me in the south, give me also springs of water. Her father gave her the upper and lower springs.

There are also towns and villages belonging to Ekron.

From Ekron to the sea, all the land near Ashdod and its villages.

Ashitu and the towns and villages belonging to Ashitu. Gaza and its towns and villages. Until the small river of Egypt, and the sea and the land near the sea.

In the mountains, there are Shamir, Yatir, and Sogo,

Dana, Kiriath Sanah (Kiriath Sanah is Debir),

Anab, Ishtimo, Anim,

Goshen, Horon, and Kiro, a total of eleven cities with their villages.
