job _Chapter 42

Job answered the Lord, saying,

I know you can do anything. Your will cannot be obstructed.

Who uses ignorant words to conceal your will? What I said is something I don’t understand. These things are too wonderful for me to know.

Please listen to me, I want to speak. I ask you, please instruct me.

I once heard of you, but now I see you with my own eyes.

Therefore, I detest myself and regret in the dust and ashes.

After the Lord spoke to Job, he said to Eliphaz the Temanite, “My anger is burning against you and your two friends, because you have not spoken of me as my servant Job did.”.

Now take seven bulls and seven rams and go to my servant Job to offer a burnt offering for yourself, and my servant Job will pray for you. I will not deal with you according to your foolishness because I am pleased with him. You are not as right as my servant Job is when you talk about me.

So Eliphaz the Temanite, Bildad the Shuhite, and Zophaz the Namarite did as the Lord commanded them. The Lord accepted Job.

Job prayed for his friends. The Lord caused Job to return from his suffering and plunder, and the Lord gave him twice as much as he had before.

Job’s brothers, sisters and people he had known before came to him and ate with him in his house. And concerning all the calamity that the Lord has brought upon him, they mourn and comfort him. Each person also gave him a piece of silver and a gold ring.

In this way, the Lord later blessed Job more than before. He has 14000 sheep, 6000 camels, 1000 pairs of cows, and 1000 donkeys.

He also has seven sons and three daughters.

He named his eldest daughter Jemimah, his second daughter Keziah, and his third daughter Kirianhapu.

Among the women in the whole land, there is no one as beautiful as Job’s daughter. Their father gave them an inheritance among their brothers.

Afterwards, Job lived another 140 years and saw his children and grandchildren until the fourth generation.

In this way, Job grew old and died satisfied with his days.
