Jeremiah_Chapter 25

In the fourth year of Jehoiakim son of Josiah king of Judah, which was the first year of Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon, the word of the Lord came to Jeremiah concerning all the people of Judah.

And the prophet Jeremiah said these words to all the people of Judah and all the inhabitants of Jerusalem,

From the thirteenth year of Josiah son of Amon, king of Judah, to this day, the word of the Lord has always come to me throughout these twenty-three years. I have also told you stories, which have been told since I woke up early, but you did not listen.

The Lord also rose up early and sent his servants the prophets to you (but you did not listen, nor did you turn your ears to listen),

And he said, Turn every one of you back, depart from the evil way and the evil that you have done, and dwell in the land that the Lord has given you and your ancestors in the past forever.

Do not follow other gods to serve and worship, and provoke me to anger with the work of your hands. In this way, I won’t harm you.

However, you did not listen to me, and instead provoked me to anger and framed yourself with the work of your hands. This is what the Lord has said.

Therefore thus says the Lord of hosts, Because you have not obeyed my voice,

I will summon all the tribes of the north and my servant Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon to attack this land and its inhabitants, as well as all the nations around it. I will completely destroy them, so that they will be a terror, a mockery, and a permanent desolation. This is what the Lord has said.

I will make the voices of joy and joy, the voices of the groom and bride, the sound of the grinding mill, and the light of the lamp cease from among them.

This whole land is bound to be desolate and terrifying. These nations will serve the king of Babylon for seventy years.

After seventy years have passed, I will punish the king of Babylon and that nation, as well as the land of the Chaldeans, for their sins have left it forever desolate. This is what the Lord has said.

I will also bring upon that land all the words that I have spoken, even the words written in this book, which Jeremiah prophesied to these nations.

Because many nations and great kings will make the Chaldeans slaves. I will also repay them according to their deeds and according to the work of their hands.

This is what the Lord, the God of Israel, has said to me: Take this cup of wine of wrath from my hand, that the people of all the nations whom I have sent you may drink.

They will stumble and go mad when they drink, because I have brought a sword among them.

I took this cup from the hand of the Lord and gave it to the people of all the nations whom the Lord sent me to drink,

Jerusalem and the cities of Judah, as well as the kings and leaders of Jerusalem, have made these cities desolate, causing astonishment, ridicule, and curse, just as they are today.

And Pharaoh the king of Egypt, and his servants, and his princes, and all his people,

And the people of the mixed race, and the kings of the land of Uz, and the kings of the land of the Philistines, Ashkelon, Gaza, Ekron, and the remaining people of Ashdod.

Edom, Moab, and the children of Ammon,

The kings of Tyre, the kings of Sidon, and the kings of the islands,

Didan, Tema, Booth, and all those who shave their hair around them.

The kings of Arabia, the kings of the people of the mixed race living in the wilderness,

The kings of Xinli, the kings of Elam, and the kings of the Medes,

The kings of the north, far and near, as well as all the nations on earth, will drink, and from now on, the king of Babylon will also drink.

You shall say to them, Thus says the Lord of hosts, the God of Israel: Drink, and be drunk, and vomit, and fall, and not rise again, because I have brought the sword among you.

If they refuse to take this cup from your hand to drink, then you shall say to them, This is what the Lord of hosts says: You must drink.

Since I have caused calamity from the city under my name, can you spare all punishment? You will not be spared, for I will command the sword to come upon all the inhabitants of the earth. This is what the Lord of armies has said.

Therefore prophesy all these words to them, and fight against them, saying, The Lord will roar from high heaven, he will speak from the sanctuary, and he will roar with a loud voice towards his flock. He will shout to all the inhabitants of the earth, like a grape treader.

A sound will reach the ends of the earth, because the Lord is in conflict with the nations. He will question anyone who has blood. As for the wicked, he will be handed over to the sword. This is what the Lord has said.

This is what the Lord of hosts says: “See, disaster will come from one country to another, and a great storm will blow from the ends of the earth.”.

On that day, from one side of the earth to the other, the Lord will slaughter. No one will mourn, no one will be collected or buried, and it will become manure on the ground.

O shepherds, howl and shout. O heads of the masses, roll in the dust, for the days of your slaughter and dispersion have come to an end. You will shatter like a beautiful object.

The shepherd has no way to escape. The leader of the masses cannot escape either.

Listen, the shepherds cry out, and the heads of the crowd mourn, for the Lord has turned their pasture into a wasteland.

The Lord unleashed a fierce anger, and the safe sheepfolds fell silent.

He left his secret place like a lion, and their land was terrifying due to the fierce oppression of the sword and his fierce anger.
