Genesis_Chapter 9

God blessed Noah and his sons and said to them, ‘Give birth to many and fill the earth.’.

Every beast on the earth and every bird in the air will be terrified and afraid of you. Give all the insects on the earth and all the fish in the sea into your hands.

All living animals can be your food. I have given you all these things, just like vegetables.

But flesh with blood is its life, and you shall not eat it.

I will punish those who shed your blood and harm your lives, whether they be beasts or humans, even to their brothers.

Anyone who sheds human blood will also have their blood shed. Because God created man in his own image.

Give birth to many and prosper on the earth.

God spoke to Noah and his sons, saying,

I make a covenant with you and your descendants,

And make a covenant with all the living creatures here, including birds, livestock, and every living creature that comes out of the ark.

I have made a covenant with you that all flesh and blood will no longer be consumed by the flood, nor will any flood destroy the land.

God said, The eternal covenant I have made with you and all the living creatures here is marked.

I will place the rainbow in the clouds, and it will be a sign of my covenant with the earth.

When I cover the earth with clouds, a rainbow will appear in the clouds,

I will remember the covenant I made with you and all living creatures with flesh and blood, so that the water will no longer overflow and destroy all flesh and blood.

The rainbow will appear in the clouds, and when I see it, I will remember the eternal covenant I made with all flesh and blood on the earth.

God said to Noah, This is the sign of my covenant with all flesh and blood on earth.

The sons of Noah who left the ark were Shem, Ham, and Japheth. Han is the father of Canaan.

These are the three sons of Noah, whose descendants are scattered throughout the land.

Noah started working as a farmer and planted a vineyard.

He drank the wine from the garden and got drunk, naked in the tent.

Ham, the father of Canaan, saw his father naked and went outside to tell his two brothers.

So Shem and Japheth took a piece of clothing and draped it over their shoulders, stepping back in and covering it for their father. They can’t see their father’s nakedness with their backs on their faces.

Noah woke up from his wine and knew what his youngest son had done to him,

And he said, Cursed be Canaan, and he shall be a servant to his brothers.

And he said, Blessed be the Lord, the God of Shem; may Canaan be a servant of Shem.

May God expand Japheth and let him dwell in the tents of Shem, and may Canaan be his servant.

After the flood, Noah lived another 350 years.

Noah lived a total of 950 years and then died.
