Genesis_Chapter 18
The Lord appeared to Abraham at the oak tree of Mamre. At that time, it was hot, and Abraham sat at the entrance of the tent,
Looking up, I saw three people standing across from me. As soon as he saw it, he ran to meet them from the entrance of the tent and fell to the ground,
And he said, My lord, if I find favor in your sight, do not leave your servant and go forward.
Let me bring some water for you to wash your feet and rest under the tree.
I’ll bring some more cake, you can add some energy and then move forward. Since you have come to your servants, it is rightful for you to do so. They said, just do as you say.
Abraham hurriedly entered the tent and saw Sarah, saying, Quickly take three measures of fine flour and mix it to make bread.
Abraham ran into the herd again, brought a tender and good calf, and handed it over to his servant. The servant quickly prepared it.
Abraham also took cream and milk, and prepared a calf, and set it before them. He stood by the tree and they ate it.
They asked Abraham, “Where is Sarah your wife?”. He said, in the tent.
One of the three said that by this time next year, I must come back to you. Your wife Sarah will have a son. Sarah also heard these words at the entrance of the tent behind the man.
Abraham and Sarah were old and old, and Sarah’s menstrual cycle had stopped.
Sarah chuckled inwardly and said, “Since I have declined and my lord is also old, how can I have such joy?”?
The Lord said to Abraham, “Why does Sarah secretly laugh and say, ‘Since I am old, can I really bear children?'”?
Is there anything difficult for the Lord to accomplish? At the appointed time, next year at this time, I will return to you and Sarah will have a son.
Sarah was afraid and denied it, saying, I didn’t laugh. That person said, otherwise, you’re really laughing.
The three of them set out from there and looked towards Sodom. Abraham also walked with them to send them on a journey.
And the Lord said, Shall I hide from Abraham what I will do?
Abraham will become a strong nation, and all nations on earth will be blessed in him.
I have visited him so that he may command his sons and his family to keep my ways, to do justice and righteousness, so that all the words I promised Abraham may be fulfilled.
The Lord has said, The sins of Sodom and Gomorrah are severe, and I have heard of them.
I will go down now and observe what they have done. Are they all like the sound that reaches my ears? If not, I must also know.
The two of them turned around and left towards Sodom. But Abraham still stood before the Lord.
Abraham approached and said, Will you destroy all good and evil?
If there are fifty righteous people in that city, will you still exterminate that place? Don’t you forgive the fifty righteous people in the city?
It is not your doing to kill the righteous and the wicked together, and to treat the righteous and the wicked equally. Will the Lord who judges the whole earth not be just?
The Lord said, If I see fifty righteous men in the city of Sodom, I will forgive all the people of that place for their sake.
Abraham said, Although I am dust, I dare to speak to the Lord.
If these fifty righteous people are short of five, will you destroy the entire city because they are short of five? He said, If I see forty-five there, I will not destroy that city.
And Abraham said to him, What if forty were found there? He said, For the sake of these forty, I will not do this either.
Abraham said, May the Lord not be angry, let me speak. What if we see thirty there? He said, If I see thirty there, I will not do this.
Abraham said, How dare I speak to the Lord? What if there are twenty of them found there? He said, For the sake of these twenty, I will not destroy that city.
Abraham said, “Please, Lord, do not be angry. I will say this again. What if ten are found there?”? He said, For the sake of these ten, I will not destroy that city.
After speaking to Abraham, the Lord left. Abraham also returned to his place.
