Exodus_Chapter 23

Do not spread rumors with others, and do not collude with evil people to make false witnes…

Do not spread rumors with others, and do not collude with evil people to make false witnesses.

Do not do evil with the crowd, do not deviate from the crowd in matters of dispute, testify and distort righteousness,

Do not favor the poor in disputes.

If you encounter your enemy’s ox or donkey getting lost, always bring it back and hand it over to him.

If you see a donkey that hates you lying under a heavy load, do not leave, and be sure to lift the load with the owner of the donkey.

Do not pervert integrity in the disputes of the poor.

Stay away from false things. Do not kill innocent and righteous people, for I will not justify the wicked.

Do not accept bribes, because bribes can blind the discerning and reverse the words of the righteous.

Do not oppress sojourners, for you have been sojourners in the land of Egypt and know the spirit of sojourners.

For six years, you will cultivate the fields and collect the crops,

But in the seventh year, let the land rest, neither plow nor sow, so that the poor among your people may have food to eat, and what remains of them may be eaten by wild beasts. Your vineyards and olive groves should also be handled in the same way.

Six days you shall work, and on the seventh day you shall rest, so that the oxen and donkeys may rest, and that the sons of your maidservants and the sojourners may be at ease.

Whatever I say to you, you must keep it. Do not mention the names of other gods, nor do you proclaim them from your mouth.

Three times a year, you must show me respect.

You shall observe the Feast of Unleavened Bread, and eat unleavened bread for seven days at the appointed time in the month of Abib, as I commanded you. No one shall appear before me empty handed, for you have come out of Egypt this month.

And you shall observe the harvest festival, and the harvest shall be the first fruits of your labor, which you have sown in the field. And collect at the end of the year, and observe the collection festival.

All males shall appear before the Lord Jehovah three times a year.

Do not offer the blood of my sacrifice along with any leavened bread, nor do you keep the fat of my sacrifice until morning.

The first ripe thing in the land shall be brought to the temple of the Lord your God. Do not cook goat lambs with the milk of the mother goat.

See, I have sent messengers in front of you to protect you on the way and lead you to the place I have prepared.

He came in my name, be careful before him, obey his voice, and do not provoke him, for he will not forgive your wrongdoing.

If you truly obey his voice and do everything I say, then I will be your enemy and your enemy.

My messenger will go before you and lead you to the Amorites, Hittites, Perizzites, Canaanites, Hivites, and Jebusites, and I will cut them off.

You shall not bow down to their gods, nor serve them, nor follow their ways; but you shall completely destroy their gods and smash their pillars.

Serve the Lord your God, and he will bless your food and water, and remove diseases from among you.

There must be no cases of abortion or childbirth within your territory. I will make you meet the number of your days.

Wherever you go, I will cause all the people there to be terrified and disturbed before you, and I will make all your enemies turn their backs and flee.

I will send hornets to fly before you and drive out the Hivites, Canaanites, and Hittites.

I will not drive them out from before you within a year, or the land will become desolate and the beasts of the wilderness will multiply and harm you.

I will gradually drive them out from before you until your number increases and you inherit the land.

I will set your boundaries from the Red Sea to the Sea of the Philistines, and from the wilderness to the Great River. I will give the inhabitants of that land into your hands, and you will drive them out from before you.

Do not make a covenant with them or their gods.

They shall not dwell in your land, lest they cause you to offend me. If you serve their gods, it will become a trap for you.
