Exodus_Chapter 13

The Lord spoke to Moses, saying,

All the firstborn in Israel, whether it be man or beast, are mine: they shall be consecrated to me.

Moses said to the people, Remember the day when you came out of the house of slavery in Egypt, because the Lord brought you out of this place with a strong hand. Fermented cakes are not to be eaten.

This day in the month of Yabi is the day you came out.

In the future, the Lord will bring you into the land of the Canaanites, Hittites, Amorites, Hivites, and Jebusites, which he swore to your ancestors to give you, a land flowing with milk and honey. At that time, you shall observe this ritual in this month.

You shall eat unleavened bread for seven days, and on the seventh day you shall keep a feast to the Lord.

For these seven days, you shall eat unleavened bread, and there shall be no leavened bread or fermented substance within your borders.

On that day, you shall tell your son, saying, This is because of what the Lord did for me when I came out of Egypt.

This will be a sign on your hand and a memorial on your forehead, so that the law of the Lord may remain in your mouth, because the Lord brought you out of Egypt with a strong hand.

So you have to follow this example every year according to the date.

In the future, the Lord will bring you into the land of the Canaanites, as he swore to you and your ancestors, and give you this land,

At that time, you shall give all the firstborn and the firstborn of any livestock to the Lord, and all the male shall belong to the Lord.

You shall redeem every firstborn donkey with a lamb, and if you do not redeem it, you shall break its neck. Redeem all the firstborn among your sons.

In the future, your son will ask you, what does this mean? Then say, The Lord brought us out of the house of slavery in Egypt with a mighty hand.

At that time, Pharaoh hardly allowed us to go, so the Lord killed all the firstborn in the land of Egypt, whether they were humans or livestock. Therefore, I offer all the firstborn male livestock as sacrifices to the Lord, but redeem all the firstborn sons.

This will be a sign on your hand and a scripture on your forehead, because the Lord brought us out of Egypt with a strong hand.

When Pharaoh allowed the people to go, although the road to the land of the Philistines was near, God did not lead them there, because God said, “I fear that the people will regret the war and return to Egypt.”.

So God led the people to take a detour and walk by the path of the Red Sea wilderness. The Israelites went up with weapons when they left the land of Egypt.

Moses took Joseph’s bones with him, because Joseph had made the Israelites solemnly swear to them, saying, God will visit you, and you shall bring my bones up from here.

They set out from Succoth and camped in Itham by the edge of the wilderness.

During the day, the Lord led their way in the pillar of clouds, and at night he illuminated them in the pillar of fire, so that they could walk day and night.

The pillar of clouds by day and the pillar of fire by night do not leave before the people.
