Acts of the Apostles_Chapter 8

From this day on, the church in Jerusalem was greatly persecuted. Except for the apostles, the disciples were scattered throughout Judea and Samaria.

There were devout people who buried Stephen and wept loudly for him.

But Saul persecuted the church and went into every man’s house, pulling men and women down into prison.

Those scattered people go everywhere to preach.

Philip went down to the city of Samaria and preached Christ.

When they heard it and saw the miracles that Philip had done, they all agreed to obey his words.

Because many people were possessed by evil spirits, those ghosts shouted loudly and came out of them. There are also many paralyzed and lame people who have been treated.

In that city, there is great joy.

There was a man named Simon who had been practicing witchcraft in that city and was arrogant, causing surprise among the people of Samaria.

Regardless of size, listen to him and say, This person is the Mighty One called God.

They obeyed him because he had been using magic for a long time, which amazed them.

And when they believed in the gospel of the kingdom of God, which Philip preached, and in the name of Jesus Christ, both men and women were baptized.

Ximen himself also believed it. After being baptized, he was always with Philip. And he was greatly surprised when he saw the miracles and great powers he had done.

The apostles in Jerusalem heard that the Samaritans had received the word of God and sent Peter and John to them.

When the two of them arrived, they prayed for them to receive the Holy Spirit.

Because the Holy Spirit has not yet descended on one of them. They were baptized only in the name of the Lord Jesus.

So the apostles laid their hands on their heads, and they received the Holy Spirit.

Simon saw the apostles laying their hands, and the Holy Spirit was given to him. Just give the money to the apostles,

Say, give me this authority too, let me hold my hand on someone. Whoever can receive the Holy Spirit.

Peter said, Let your silver perish with you. Because you think God’s gift can be bought with money.

You have nothing to do with this matter. Because in front of God, your heart is not right.

You should repent your sins and pray to the Lord. Or perhaps your thoughts can be forgiven.

I see that you are in a state of bitterness, bound by sin.

Simon said, May you pray to the Lord for me, that nothing that you have said may come upon me.

After the apostles proved the word of the Lord and preached, they returned to Jerusalem and preached the gospel in many villages throughout Samaria.

An angel of the Lord said to Philip, “Get up, go south, and go up the road from Jerusalem to Gaza.”. That road is a wilderness.

Philip got up and went. Unexpectedly, there was an Aegean (also known as Cush, see Isaiah 18:11) who was a powerful eunuch and was in charge of the treasury under the command of Queen Kandahar of Aegean. He went up to Jerusalem to worship.

Now come back and sit in the car, reading the book of the prophet Isaiah.

The Holy Spirit said to Philip, “Go and get close to that chariot.”.

Philip ran to the eunuch and heard him reading the book of the prophet Isaiah. He asked him, “Do you understand what you are reading?”?

He said, “How can I understand without anyone teaching me?”? So he invited Philip to get on the carriage and sit with him.

The passage he recited said, ‘He is like a sheep being led to a place of slaughter, and like a lamb silently under the hands of the shearers, so he does not speak.’.

When he was humble, people did not judge him justly. Who can recount his generation, for his life is taken away from the earth.

The eunuch said to Philip, “May I ask who did the prophet say this about, or about himself?”? Are you pointing at someone else?

Philip opened his mouth and began preaching Jesus to him from this scripture

As the two of them were walking forward, they arrived at a place with water. The eunuch said, “Look, there is water here. What hinders my baptism?”? (There are ancient scrolls here)

Philip said, “If you believe with all your heart, then you can.” He replied, “I believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God.”

So he ordered the station to stay, and Philip and the eunuch went into the water together. Philip baptized him.

Coming up from the water, the Spirit of the Lord carried Philip away, and the eunuch no longer saw him. He walked joyfully.

Later, someone met Philip in Azoth, who traveled throughout the place and preached the gospel in all the cities until he reached Caesarea.
