O Israel, go to Bethel and sin, and increase your sins in Gilgal. Every morning offer your sacrifices, and every three days offer one tenth of your offerings.

I have made your teeth clean in all your cities, and in all your places where food is scarce, you will not return to me. This is what the Lord has said.

In the first three months of harvest, I caused the rain to stop and not fall on you. I rain in this city, not in that city. This piece of land has rain, but that piece of land has no rain, and if there is no rain, it will dry up.

In this way, people from two or three cities gathered in one city to find water, but they didn’t have enough to drink. You still don’t turn to me. This is what the Lord has said.

I have attacked you with drought (wind, mildew). Many vegetables, vines, fig trees, and olive trees in your garden have been eaten by cutting insects. You have not returned to me, says the Lord.

I brought a plague among you, just like in Egypt. Slaying your young men with the sword, causing your horses to be plundered, and the stench of the corpses in the camp is strong. You still don’t turn to me. This is what the Lord has said.

I overthrew the cities among you, just as I overthrew Sodom and Gomorrah before, making you like a stick drawn from the fire. You still don’t turn to me. This is what the Lord has said.

I will do this to you, O Israel. O Israel, since I have done so, prepare yourself to meet your God.

He who creates mountains, creates winds, directs his thoughts to people, turning the morning light into darkness, and steps on the high places of the earth. His name is the Lord God of hosts.
