The Book of Amos_Chapter 2
This is what the Lord says: For the three or four sins of Moab, I will not spare her punishment. Because she burned the bones of the king of Edom into ashes.
But I will send a fire on Moab, burning down the palaces of Galileo. Moab will die in the midst of shouting, shouting, and blowing the horn.
I will cut off the judges in Moab and slaughter all their leaders together with them. This is what the Lord has said.
Thus says the Lord, I will not spare the punishment of the Jews for their three or four sins. Because they despise the teachings of the Lord and do not keep his laws. Their ancestors followed false idols, causing them to go astray.
But I will send a fire on Judah, burning down the palaces of Jerusalem.
This is what the Lord says: For the three or four sins of the Israelites, I will not spare their punishment. Because they sold the righteous for silver and the poor for a pair of shoes.
They all drool when they see the dust on the poor people’s heads. Obstructing the path of humble people. Father and son commit adultery with the same woman, blaspheming my holy name.
They lay down on each altar, spreading the clothes that men should wear. And in the temple of their gods, drink the wine of the punished.
I destroyed the Amorites from before the Israelites. Although he is as tall as a cedar tree and as strong as an oak tree, I will destroy his fruit from above and cut off his roots from below.
I will also bring you up from the land of Egypt and guide you in the wilderness for forty years, so that you may inherit the land of the Amorites.
I have raised prophets among your children, and raised Nazarites among your young men. Oh Israel, isn’t it like this? This is what the Lord has said.
But you gave wine to the Nazarites and instructed the prophets not to prophesy.
See, in the land where you live, I will crush you like a cart filled with sheaves.
Fast runners cannot escape, powerful ones cannot exert force, and brave ones cannot save themselves.
Those who hold bows cannot stand, and those with fast legs cannot escape. Even those who ride horses cannot save themselves.
On that day, the most courageous among the brave will flee naked. This is what the Lord has said.
