King Arad, a Canaanite who lived in the land of the South, heard that the Israelites had come by the way of Atharim, and fought against them, capturing a few of them.

The Israelites made a vow to the Lord, saying, If you deliver this people into my hands, I will completely destroy their cities.

The Lord agreed to the Israelites and delivered the Canaanites to them, and they completely destroyed the Canaanites and their cities. The name of that place is Horma (which means destruction).

They set out from Mount Hor and headed towards the Red Sea to bypass the land of Edom. The people were very restless because of the difficulty of this road,

Just complain?? God and Moses said, Why did you bring us out of Egypt and cause us to die in the wilderness? There is no food or water here, and our hearts detest this meager food.

So the Lord brought fire snakes into the midst of the people, and the snakes bit them. Many people died among the Israelites.

The people came to Moses and said, “We complain?”?? The Lord and you have sinned. Pray to the Lord that these snakes may leave us. So Moses prayed for the people.

The Lord said to Moses, Make a fiery serpent and hang it on a pole. Anyone who is bitten will come to life just by looking at this snake.

Moses made a copper snake and hung it on a pole. Anyone bitten by a snake will come alive at a glance.

The Israelites set out and camped in Abel.

They set out from Abel and camped in Ejeabarim, in the wilderness opposite Moab, towards the sunrise.

Depart from there and camp in the Valley of Zered.

Depart from there and camp on the other side of the Arnon River. This Arnon River flows out of the border of the Amorites in the wilderness. Originally, the Arnon River was the border of Moab, at the border between Moab and the Amorites.

Therefore, in the Book of War of the Lord it is said, Wahab of Supha and the valley of the Arnon River,

And towards the valley of the city of Ar, which is near the border of Moab.

The Israelites set out from there and arrived at Beer, which means well. Once the Lord commanded Moses, ‘Gather the people together so that I may give them water to drink.’ This is what the Lord said.

At that time, the Israelites sang, ‘Well, water is rushing up.’. Sing to this well.

This well was dug by the leader and the nobles among the people with a spear and a staff. The Israelites went from the wilderness to Matanah,

From Matah to Nahaleel, from Nahaleel to Bamoth,

From Bamoth to the valley in the land of Moab, and to the top of Pisgah, which overlooks the wilderness.

The Israelites sent messengers to King Sihon of the Amorites, saying,

Please allow us to pass through your land. We do not turn to the fields or vineyards, nor drink water from wells; we only follow the royal path until we have crossed your borders.

Sihon did not allow the Israelites to pass through his territory, so he gathered all his people and went out into the wilderness to attack the Israelites. When he arrived at Jaza, he fought against the Israelites.

The Israelites killed him with the sword and obtained his land, from the Arnon River to the Jabbok River, as far as the border of the Ammonites, because the border of the Ammonites was fortified.

The Israelites took all these cities and lived in the cities of the Amorites, including Heshbon and all its villages.

This Heshbon was the capital of King Sihon of the Amorites. Sihon fought against the kings of Moab and took all the land from his hands, all the way to the Arnon River.

So those who write poetry say, Come to Heshbon. May the city of Xihong be built and established.

Because fire emanated from Heshbon and flames from the city of Sihon, burning up Ar in Moab and the priests of the high places of the Arnon River.

Woe to you, Moab. O people of Chemosh, you have perished. The men of Chemosh fled, and the women were taken captive and handed over to King Sihon of the Amorites.

We shot them. Heshi is destroyed to the end. We turned the land into a wasteland until Noah. This Noah extends straight to Medeba.

So the Israelites lived in the land of the Amorites.

Moses sent people to spy on Jazer, and the Israelites took control of the towns of Jazer and drove out the Amorites there.

The Israelites turned back and headed towards Bashan. King Og of Bashan and all his people came out to fight against them in Edrei.

The Lord said to Moses, Do not be afraid of him. For I have delivered him, his people, and his land into your hands. You must treat him like Sihon the king of the Amorites who stayed in Heshbon before.

So they killed him, his sons, and all his people, leaving no one behind, and took possession of his land.
