On the day when the Lord spoke to Moses on Mount Sinai, the descendants of Aaron and Moses…

On the day when the Lord spoke to Moses on Mount Sinai, the descendants of Aaron and Moses are as follows:,

Aaron’s son, his eldest son’s name is Nadab, along with Abihu, Eleazar, and Ithamar.

These are the names of Aaron’s sons, all of whom were anointed priests, whom Moses had ordained to serve as priests.

Nadab and Abihu died before the Lord in the wilderness of Sinai when they offered fire to the Lord. They also have no sons. Eleazar and Ithamar served as priests before their father Aaron.

The Lord spoke to Moses, saying,

Bring the tribe of Levi closer and stand before Aaron the priest to serve him,

Observe the orders given to him and the congregation in front of the tabernacle, and do the work of the tabernacle.

And he shall take care of the utensils of the tabernacle of the congregation, and keep the commandments of the children of Israel, to do the work of the tabernacle.

You shall give the Levites to Aaron and his sons, for they were chosen from among the Israelites to give to him.

You must instruct Aaron and his sons to keep their priestly duties. Outsiders who come near will be put to death.

The Lord spoke to Moses, saying,

I have chosen Levites from among the Israelites to replace all the firstborn of the Israelites. The Levites will belong to me.

Because what is born in the mortal world is mine. On the day I killed all the firstborn in the land of Egypt, I consecrated all the firstborn in Israel, both humans and livestock. They must belong to me. I am Jehovah.

The Lord spoke to Moses in the wilderness of Sinai, saying,

Count the Levites according to their clans and families. All men over a month old must count.

So Moses numbered them as the Lord commanded.

The names of the sons of Levi are Gershon, Kohath, and Merari.

The sons of Gershon, according to their families, were Lini and Shimei.

The sons of Kohath, according to their families, were Amram, Izhar, Hebron, and Uzziel.

The sons of Merari, according to their families, were Mahli and Mushi. These are the households of the Levites according to their families.

Of the Geshun tribe, there were the Lini tribe and the Shimei tribe. These are the two clans of Geshun.

Among them, there were a total of 7500 men counted from a month ago.

The two clans of Geshun shall camp on the west side behind the tabernacle.

Eliasaph, the son of Lail, was the leader of the Gershonites.

The descendants of Gershon are to guard the tabernacle and the tent, with the tent covering the entrance curtain of the tabernacle,

The curtains and door curtains of the courtyard (which surround the tent and altar), and all the ropes used.

Among the Kohathites were the Amran, Ezra, Hebron, and Uzziel tribes. This is the various tribes under the jurisdiction of Ge.

According to the number of all men, there were a total of 8600 people guarding the sanctuary from a month ago.

The families of the sons of Kohath shall camp on the south side of the tabernacle.

Elizaphan, the son of Uzziel, was the leader of the Kohathite family and family.

What they are to guard are the ark, the table, the lampstand, the two altars, and the utensils used in the sanctuary, as well as the curtains and all the utensils used.

Eleazar, the son of Aaron the priest, was appointed as the leader of the Levites, to oversee those who were guarding the sanctuary.

Of the Merari tribe, there are the Morites and the Mushites. This is the second tribe of Mirali.

They were counted, according to the number of all men, from one month old and above, a total of 6200.

Zuriel, the son of Abihai, was the leader of the two families of Merari. They will camp north of the tent.

The duties of the descendants of Merari were to guard the boards, bars, pillars, sockets, and all the utensils used for the tabernacle,

The pillars, sockets, stakes, and ropes around the courtyard.

To the east of the tabernacle, Moses, Aaron, and Aaron’s sons camped towards the sunrise. They guard the sanctuary and keep the commandments of the Lord on behalf of the Israelites. Outsiders who come near will be put to death.

All the Levites who were numbered, Moses and Aaron, according to the commandment of the Lord, were a total of 22000 men from a month old and above, according to their families.

The Lord said to Moses, “Count all the firstborn males from one month or more among the Israelites and write down their names.”.

I am Jehovah. You shall choose the Levites as mine, to replace all the firstborn of the Israelites, and to take the livestock of the Levites as a replacement for all the firstborn of the Israelites.

Moses counted all the firstborn of the Israelites as commanded by the Lord.

According to the number of names, there were a total of 2273 firstborn males from a month ago.

The Lord spoke to Moses, saying,

Choose the Levites to replace all the firstborn of the Israelites, and take the livestock of the Levites to replace the livestock of the Israelites. The Levites will belong to me. I am Jehovah.

Among the Israelites, there were two hundred and seventy-three firstborn sons of the Levites, and they must be redeemed.

You shall redeem five shekels of silver per person according to the shekel of the sanctuary, according to the shekel of the sanctuary,

Give the redemption money of the excess to Aaron and his sons.

So Moses took redemption silver from those who were not redeemed by the Levites.

The silver taken from the firstborn of the Israelites, according to the shekel of the sanctuary, was 1365 shekels.

Moses gave the redemption silver to Aaron and his sons, as the Lord had commanded.
