Leviticus_Chapter 17

The Lord said to Moses,

Speak to Aaron, his sons, and all Israel, saying, This is what the Lord has commanded:,

Anyone in the house of Israel slaughters a bull, a lamb, or a goat, regardless of whether it is inside or outside the camp,

If it is not brought to the entrance of the tabernacle of the meeting, and offered as an offering to the Lord in front of the tabernacle of the Lord, the blood shall be on that person. He has shed blood and needs to be cut off from the people.

This is to make the Israelites bring the sacrifices they offered in the fields to the entrance of the Tent of Meeting before the Lord, and present them to the priests as a peace offering to the Lord.

The priest shall sprinkle the blood at the entrance of the tent of meeting, on the altar of the Lord, and burn the fat as a fragrant offering to the Lord.

They shall no longer offer sacrifices to the male goats that they follow in their fornication, and this shall be an eternal law for them throughout their generations.

Speak to them, saying, All the people of the house of Israel, or any stranger who sojourns among them, shall offer burnt offerings or peace offerings,

If it is not brought to the entrance of the tabernacle of meeting to offer to the Lord, that person will be cut off from among the people.

If anyone in the house of Israel or an outsider who sojourns among them eats any blood, I will turn my face against the person who eats the blood and cut him off from his people.

Because the life of living beings is in the blood. I give you this blood to make atonement for your life on the altar, because there is life in the blood, so it can make atonement.

Therefore, I say to the Israelites, You shall not eat blood, nor shall any stranger who sojourns among you eat blood.

Any Israelite or outsider residing among them who hunts and finds edible animals will release their blood and cover it with soil.

As for the life of all living things, it is in the blood. So I said to the Israelites, You shall not eat the blood of any living creature, for the blood of all living creatures is their life. Anyone who eats blood will be cut off.

Anyone who eats anything that dies on their own or is torn apart by wild beasts, whether they are locals or sojourners, will be unclean until evening. They must wash their clothes and wash themselves with water until evening, and then they will be clean.

But if he does not wash his clothes or wash his body, he will bear his iniquity.
