Joshua_Chapter 3
Early in the morning, Joshua and all Israel left Shittim and arrived at the Jordan River, where they stayed and waited to cross the river.
After three days, the official traveled throughout the camp,
Command the people, saying, When you see the ark of the Lord your God and the priests and Levites carrying it, you must leave your place of residence and follow the ark.
But the distance between you and the ark shall be two thousand cubits, and you shall not be near it, so that you may know the path to follow, for you have never walked this path.
Joshua commanded the people, saying, Cleanse yourselves, for tomorrow the Lord will do wonders among you.
Joshua also commanded the priests, saying, Lift up the ark of the covenant and go over before the people. So they lifted up the ark and walked before the people.
The Lord said to Joshua, From this day on, I will make you great in the sight of all Israel, so that they may know that just as I am with Moses, I will also be with you.
Command the priests who carry the ark of the covenant, saying, When you come to the waters of the Jordan River, stand still in the Jordan River.
Joshua said to the Israelites, “Come near and hear the word of the Lord your God.”.
Joshua said, “See, the ark of the Lord under heaven will pass over before you into the Jordan River, so that you will know that there is the living God among you.”. And he will drive out the Canaanites, Hittites, Hivites, Perizzites, Gegashites, Amorites, and Jebusites before you.
Take twelve people from the tribes of Israel, one from each tribe,
When the priests who carry the ark of the Lord of the world stand with their feet in the Jordan River, the water of the Jordan River, which flows from top to bottom, will be cut off and erected as a fortress.
When the people left their tents to cross the Jordan River, the priests who carried the ark were in front of the people.
They arrived at the Jordan River, and as soon as their feet entered the water (for the Jordan River had risen on both sides on the day of harvest),
The water flowing from top to bottom stopped at the city of Adam next to Saladan in a very far place, and was erected as a fortress. The sea that leads to Arabah is the Salt Sea, and the flowing water is completely cut off. So the people passed over opposite Jericho.
The priests who carried the Ark of the Lord stood in the dry land in the middle of the Jordan River, and all Israel crossed over from the dry land until all the people had crossed the Jordan River.
