job _Chapter 29

Job continued,

May my condition be like the months before, like the days when God kept me.

At that time, his lamp shone on my head. I walked through the darkness with his light.

I wish to be like in my prime, when I was in the tent. God has a close friendship with me.

The Almighty is still with me. My children surround me.

Milk can wash my feet. The rock has created a river of oil for me.

I went out to the city gate and set up a seat on the street.

The young people avoided me when they saw me, and the old people also stood up.

The princes stopped talking and covered their mouths with their hands.

The leader remained silent, his tongue sticking to his chest.

If my ears hear me, they call me blessed. Those who look at me praise me.

Because I save the needy who cry, and the orphans who have no one to help.

Bless me who are about to perish. I also bring joy to the widow’s heart.

I make righteousness my garment, and justice my robe and crown.

I am for the eyes of the blind and the feet of the lame.

I am the father of the poor, a stranger, and I investigate his case.

I broke the teeth of the unrighteous man and took what was stolen from his teeth.

I said, I will die in my nest, and my days will be increased like dust and sand.

My roots grow to the edge of the water, and dew lingers on my branches all night long.

My glory is renewed in me, and my bow is strengthened in my hand.

People hear me and look up, silently waiting for my guidance.

After I spoke, they stopped talking. My words dripped on them like rain and dew.

They look up to me like looking up to the rain, and open their mouths like longing for the spring rain.

They were not confident, so I smiled at them. They don’t make the light on my face change.

I chose the path for them and sat first. I dwell in the army like a king, and comfort the sorrowful like a mourner.
