And the remaining people of this evil tribe would rather choose death than life in all the places where I have driven them. This is what the Lord of armies has said.
You will say to them, ‘This is what the Lord says: Do people fall and never rise again?’? Will people turn around and never come back again?
Why do these people of Jerusalem persist in apostasy? They are determined to be deceitful and refuse to turn back.
I listened carefully and heard them say dishonest things. No one repents of their evil deeds, saying, What have I done? They each turned to their own path, like horses rushing straight into the battlefield.
The stork in the air knows its coming and going regularly. The spotted dove, swallow, and white crane are also waiting for the season to come. But my people do not know the law of the Lord.
What do you say? We have wisdom, and the law of the Lord is with us. Look, the fake pen of a scholar is playing with falsehood.
The wise are ashamed, terrified, and taken. What wisdom do they have in their hearts when they abandon the word of the Lord?
So I will give their wives to others and give their fields to others as an inheritance. Because they are all greedy from the smallest to the greatest, and from prophets to priests, they all act falsely.
They gently and suddenly heal the wounds of my people, saying, Peace. It’s safe now. Actually, there is no peace.
Do they feel ashamed of their heinous actions? Otherwise, they are not ashamed or ashamed. Therefore they will fall among those who fall. When I punish them, they will fall. This is what the Lord has said.
The Lord said, I will completely destroy them. There will be no grapes on the vine, no fruit on the fig tree, and the leaves will wither. What I have given them will leave them and go over.
Why do we sit still? Let us gather, enter the fortified city, and remain silent there. For the Lord our God has kept us silent, and has given us bitter water to drink, all because we have sinned against the Lord.

See, I will bring venomous snakes among you, who will not obey magic and will bite you. This is what the Lord has said.
