Exodus_Chapter 8

The Lord commanded Moses, ‘Go in to Pharaoh and say to him,’ This is what the Lord says: ‘Let my people go, so that they may serve me.’.

If you refuse to let them go, I will cause frogs to ravage your surroundings.

Frogs will breed in the river, and they will come up and enter your palace and your bedroom, your bed, your servant’s house, your people’s bodies, your stove and your kneading bowl,

And I will go up to you, your people, and all your servants.

The Lord spoke to Moses, saying, ‘Speak to Aaron,’ Stretch out your rod over the river, the river, and the pond, so that frogs may come up to the land of Egypt. ‘.

Aaron stretched out his staff over the waters of Egypt, and frogs came up and covered the land of Egypt.

The magicians also did the same with their sorcery, causing frogs to ascend to the land of Egypt.

Pharaoh summoned Moses and Aaron and said, “Please pray to the Lord to take this frog away from me and my people, and I will let the people go and worship the Lord.”.

Moses said to Pharaoh, “Leave it to you. When will I pray for you, your servants, and your people to destroy the frogs and leave them behind in the river?”?

He said, tomorrow. Moses said, Let it be according to your words, so that you may know that there is no one like the Lord our God.

The frog will leave you and your palace, and your servants and your people, only staying in the river.

So Moses and Aaron left Pharaoh and went out. Moses cried out to the Lord for the frog that caused trouble to Pharaoh.

The Lord did as Moses said. All the frogs in the house, courtyard, and field have died.

The crowd gathered the frogs in piles, and the ground smelled foul.

But when Pharaoh saw that the calamity had eased, he hardened his heart and refused to listen to them, as the Lord had said.

The Lord said to Moses, ‘Speak to Aaron,’ Stretch out your rod and strike the dust on the ground, turning it into fleas throughout Egypt. ‘.

They can do it this way. Aaron stretched out his staff and struck the dust on the ground, causing lice to appear on both humans and livestock. The dust throughout Egypt turned into lice.

Those who practice magic also use sorcery to produce lice, but they cannot. So there were lice on both humans and livestock.

The magician said to Pharaoh, ‘This is God’s means.’. Pharaoh’s heart was hardened and he refused to listen to Moses and Aaron, as the Lord had said.

The Lord said to Moses, “Get up early in the morning, and when Pharaoh comes to the water, stand before him and say to him, ‘This is what the Lord says:’ Let my people go, so that they may serve me. ‘”.

If you do not allow my people to go, I will send swarms of flies onto you, your servants, and your people, and into your houses. Moreover, the houses of the Egyptians and their land will be filled with swarms of flies.

On that day, I will set apart the land of Goshen, where my people reside, so that there will be no swarms of flies there, so that you may know that I am the Lord of heaven.

I will separate my people from yours. There must be this miracle tomorrow.

And the Lord did so. The flies formed a large flock and entered Pharaoh’s palace and the houses of his servants, causing the entire land of Egypt to deteriorate due to these swarms of flies.

Pharaoh summoned Moses and Aaron and said, “Go and worship your gods in this land.”.

Moses said, It is not appropriate to do this, because we will sacrifice to the Lord our God what the Egyptians detest. If we sacrifice what the Egyptians detest before their eyes, will they not stone us to death?

We will go into the wilderness and walk a three-day journey, as the Lord our God will command us to offer sacrifices to him.

Pharaoh said, I will let you go and worship the Lord your God in the wilderness, but do not go far. Please pray for me.

Moses said, “I will go out and pray to the Lord, so that the flocks of flies will depart tomorrow from Pharaoh, his servants, and his people. But Pharaoh shall no longer be deceitful, and shall not let the people go to worship the Lord.”.

So Moses left Pharaoh and begged the Lord.

The Lord did as Moses said, causing the flock of flies to leave Pharaoh, his servants, and his people, leaving no one behind.

This time Pharaoh hardened his heart and did not allow the people to go.
