On the thirteenth day of the twelfth month, which is the month of Adar, the king’s decree is about to be held, which is the day when the enemies of Judah hope to rule over them, but the Jews will instead rule over those who hate them.

The Jews gathered in the cities of all the provinces of King Ahasuerus and laid their hands on those who were trying to harm them. No one can resist them, because all tribes fear them.

The leaders of each province, the governors, the governors, and the officials in charge of the king’s affairs all helped the Jews out of fear of Mordecai.

Mordecai was a great figure in the court, and his reputation spread throughout various provinces, becoming increasingly prosperous.

The Jews struck down all their enemies with the sword and killed anyone who hated them at will.

In Shushan City, the Jews killed five hundred people.

And he killed Bashan Datah, Dafen, and Ashpatah,

Polatah, Adaliah, and Ardatah,

Parmasta, Arisai, Aridai, and Vajezatta.

These ten people are all the sons of Haman, the enemy of Judah, and the grandson of Haman. But the Jews did not take possession of the property.

On that day, the number of people killed in Shushan City was presented to the king.

The king said to Queen Esther, “The Jews have killed five hundred people in the city of Shushan, and have also killed Haman’s ten sons. What are they doing in the king’s provinces?”? What do you want now, I will give it to you. What else do you ask for, I will also accomplish it for you.

Esther said, If it pleases the king, please allow the Jews of Shushan to do the will of today tomorrow, and hang the bodies of Haman’s ten sons on a wooden frame.

The king agreed to do so. The decree was passed on Shushan, and the bodies of Haman’s ten sons were hung up.

On the fourteenth day of the month Adar, the Jews of Shushan gathered again and killed three hundred people, but they did not take any wealth.

The remaining Jews in all the provinces of the king also gathered together to protect their lives and killed 75000 people who hated them, but did not take any wealth. In this way, you will escape from your enemies and enjoy peace.

On the thirteenth day of the month Adah, this thing was done. On the fourteenth day of the Sabbath, let it be a day of feasting and joy.

But the Jews of Shushan gathered and killed their enemies on these thirteen and fourteen days. On the fifteenth day of the Sabbath, let it be a day of feasting and joy.

Therefore, the people of Judah who live in the walled countryside now regard the fourteenth day of the month Adar as an auspicious day for feasting and joy, giving gifts to each other.

Mordecai recorded this matter and wrote letters to all the Jews in the provinces of King Ahasuerus, far and near,

Teach them to observe the fourteenth and fifteenth days of the month of Adar every year.

Take the two days of this month as auspicious days for the Jews to escape from their enemies and find peace, to turn sorrow into joy, and to turn sorrow into joy. On these two days, hold feasts and celebrate, give gifts to each other, and help the poor.

So the Jews, according to the letter written by Mordecai to them, shall keep it as an eternal law, as it was first kept.

Because Haman, the son of Hammedatha, the Agagite, was the enemy of the Jews, who plotted murder against them. He cast Pur, that is, lots, to kill and destroy them.

This matter was reported to the king, and the king issued a decree that Haman’s evil plan to harm the Jews should be put on his own head, and ordered him and his sons to be hung on a wooden frame.

According to the name of Pur, the Jews called these two days Pur days. Because of the words of this letter, and because of what they have seen and encountered,

Promise yourself and your descendants, as well as those who submit to them, and keep these two days in due time every year, never to be abolished.

Every province, every city, every household shall remember and observe these two days for generations, so that this Purim day shall not be abolished among the Jews, nor shall it be forgotten among their descendants.

Queen Esther, the daughter of Abihail, and Mordecai the Jew wrote a second letter with full authority, instructing the Jews to observe this Purim day.

To all the Jews in the hundred and twenty-seven provinces of the kingdom of Ahasuerus, with peace and honesty,

Persuading them to observe this Purim day on time, fasting and calling out, as Mordecai the Jew and Esther the queen had instructed. And as the Jews promised for themselves and their descendants.

Esther commanded to keep Pur, and this was also recorded in a book.
