1 Corinthians_Chapter 14

Pursue love, and long for spiritual gifts, with even greater envy being prophetic preaching. (The original text is about prophecy, the same below)

He who speaks in a dialect does not speak to people, but to God. Because no one can hear it. However, in his heart, he talks about various mysteries.

But those who preach as prophets speak to people, to cultivate, comfort, and encourage them.

Those who speak dialects are those who cultivate themselves. Those who preach as prophets are the builders of the church.

I would like you all to speak dialects. I prefer you to be prophets and preach. For if he who speaks in a dialect does not translate it, so that the church may be formed, then he who preaches as a prophet is stronger than him.

Brothers, if I come to you only in tongues and do not need revelation, knowledge, prophecy, or teaching to explain to you, what profit do I gain from you?

How can one know what is being played, whether it is a flute or a qin, if the sound it produces is indistinguishable?

If there is an indefinite sound of the trumpet, who can prepare for war?

You are also like this, how can you know what you are saying without saying something easy to understand with your tongue? This is talking to the air.

There are many voices in the world, but none of them are meaningless.

If I do not understand the meaning of that voice, the speaker will regard me as an outsider, and I will also regard him as an outsider.

You are no exception. Since we yearn for spiritual gifts, let us seek to increase the gifts that will build the church.

So those who speak dialects should strive to be able to translate them.

If I pray in a dialect, it is my spiritual prayer. But my intelligence has not been effective.

But what about this? I will pray with both spirit and understanding. I will sing with both spirit and understanding.

Otherwise, if you express gratitude with your spirit, how can those present who do not understand your words say amen when you express gratitude?

What you are grateful for is certainly good, but unfortunately cannot create others.

I am grateful to God that I speak more dialects than all of you.

But in the church, it is better to speak five teaching words with understanding than to speak ten thousand dialects.

Brothers, do not be a child in your heart. But in evil, be a baby. Always be an adult in your mind.

It is written in the law that the Lord said, I will speak to this people with the tongue of the Gentiles and with the lips of the Gentiles. Nevertheless, they still don’t listen to me.

From this perspective, speaking dialects is not for those who believe, but for those who do not believe. Prophetic preaching is not for those who do not believe, but for those who believe.

So when the whole church is gathered together and they all speak dialects, will they not say that you are insane if anyone who does not speak dialects or does not believe comes in?

If they all prophesy, and by chance someone who does not believe or does not speak a dialect comes in, they will be awakened by the crowd and judged by them.

When the secret in his heart is revealed, he will bow down with his face to the ground, worship God, and say, Truly God is among you.

Brothers, what about this? When you gather, each of you may have poetry, teachings, revelations, dialects, or translated words. Everything should cultivate people.

If someone speaks a dialect, there must be two or at most three people, and they must take turns speaking, and one person must also translate it.

If no one flips through, just shut up in the meeting. Just say to yourself and God, that’s it.

As for those who preach as prophets, there can only be two or three people, and the rest should be careful and discerning.

If someone sitting next to you receives a revelation, then those who speak first should remain silent.

Because you can all prophesy and preach one by one, so that everyone can learn and be encouraged.

The spirit of a prophet is obedient to a prophet.

Because God does not cause chaos, but rather quietness.

Women should remain silent in the church, just like in the churches of saints. Because they are not allowed to speak. They must always submit, as the law says.

If they want to learn anything, they can ask their husbands at home. Because it is shameful for women to speak in meetings.

Has the word of God come from you? Has it come only to you.

If anyone thinks they are prophets or spiritual, then they should know that what I am writing to you is the Lord’s command.

If there is anything he doesn’t know, let him not know.

Therefore, my brothers, aspire to be prophets and preach, and do not prohibit speaking in dialects.

Everything must be done in a proper and orderly manner.
