These are the priests and Levites who returned with Zerubbabel, the son of Salatiel, and Jeshua. The priests are Silaiah, Jeremiah, and Ezra,

Amariah, Malug, Hattu,

Shachariah, Rehon, Mirimoth,

Yiduo, Jindun, Abijah,

Miajamin, Madiah, Bijia,

Shemaiah, Joyarib, Jedaiah,

Salu, Amu, Hilkiah, and Jedaiah. These people were priests and leaders of their brothers during the time of Jeshua.

The Levites were Jeshua, Binnai, Kadmil, Sherebi, Judah, and Mattaniah. This Mattaniah and his brothers are in charge of thanksgiving.

Their brothers Babuga and Uni faced each other according to their own shifts.

Jeshua gave birth to Joachim. Jehoiakim gave birth to Eliashib. Eliashib gave birth to Jehoiada.

Jehoiada gave birth to Jonathan. Jonathan gave birth to Abdua.

During the reign of Jehoiakim, the chief priest of the Selaiah tribe was Miraiah. The tribe of Jeremiah had Hananiah.

The Ezra tribe had Meshullam. The Amariah tribe had Johanan.

The Milicus had Jonathan. The Shebanites had Joseph.

The Harin tribe has Anah. The Milayo tribe has Hilekai.

The Yiduo tribe had Zechariah. The Jindun tribe has Mishulan.

The Abijah tribe had Zichri. Mina ethnic group. The Moabites have Piletai.

The Bijia tribe has Shamua. The Shemaiah tribe had Jonathan.

The tribe of Joyarib has Matenai. The Yadaya tribe has Uxi.

The Sarai people have Calais. The Yamu tribe has Heber.

The Hilar family had Hashabiah. The tribe of Yadayah had Nathaniel.

As for the Levites, their chiefs were recorded in the book during the time of Eliashib, Jehoiada, Johanan, and Abdua. During the reign of King Darius of Persia, the priests who served as tribal leaders were also recorded.

The Levites, who were the heads of their families, are recorded in history until the time of Johanan the son of Eliashib.

The heads of the Levites were Hashabiah, Shelabi, and Jeshua son of Kadmiel, opposite their brothers in their divisions, praising and thanking them one by one according to the command of David the man of God.

Mattaniah, Babukah, Obadiah, Meshullam, Damon, and Akkul were gatekeepers, guarding the gates at the treasury.

These were all appointed during the reign of Jehoiakim, the son of Jeshua, the grandson of Jozadak, and Nehemiah the governor, as well as Ezra the priest and scribe.

When the walls of Jerusalem were completed, all the people summoned the Levites from all over Jerusalem to give thanks, sing, play cymbals, tambourines, and harps, and joyfully perform the ceremony of completion.

The singers gathered around Jerusalem, along with the villages of Netophath and Beth Gilgal, as well as from the fields of Geba and Amapheth, because the singers had set up villages for themselves around Jerusalem.

The priests and Levites purified themselves, as well as the people, the gates, and the walls.

I brought the leaders of Judah up to the city and divided the thanksgiving people into two large groups, arranging them in a row. The first team is walking towards the manure factory gate on the right side of the city.

Behind them were Hoshaiah and half of the leaders of Judah.

Azariah, Ezra, and Meshullam,

Judah, Benjamin, Shemaiah, Jeremiah.

There are also descendants of priests who blow trumpets, Zechariah son of Jonathan. Jonathan was the son of Shemaiah. Shemaiah was the son of Mattaniah. Mattani is the son of Michaea. Micaiah was the son of Zaccur. Zaccur was the son of Asaph.

And there were also Zechariah’s brothers Shemaiah, Azari, Miralai, Kiralai, Maai, Nethanel, Judah, and Hanani, all holding instruments of David the man of God, with Ezra the scribe leading them.

They passed through the spring gate and went up the steps of the city of David according to the terrain, above the palace of David, until they reached the water gate facing east.

The person from the second team to express gratitude should greet that team. I and half of the people followed them and passed through the furnace tower on the city wall until we reached the wide wall.

After passing through the gates of Ephraim, the ancient gate, the fish gate, the tower of Hananel, the tower of Hamia, and even the sheep gate, he stopped at the guard gate.

So, these two groups of thanksgiving people, including me and half of the officials, stood in the temple of God.

And the priests Eleakim, Maaseiah, Minamim, Micaiah, Elioenai, Zechariah, and Hananiah sounded the trumpet.

And Maaseiah, Shemaiah, Eleazar, Uzzi, Johanan, Makchiah, Elam, and Ezer played music. Singers sing loudly, and Israhia manages them.

On that day, everyone offered a great sacrifice and rejoiced. Because God brought them great joy, even women and children rejoiced, to the extent that the laughter in Jerusalem could be heard in the distance.

On that day, someone was appointed to manage the treasury and collect the offerings, the first fruits, and the tithes taken, which were given to the priests and Levites according to the law in each city and field. The Jews rejoiced because the priests and Levites served.

The priests and Levites kept the commandments of God and kept the ritual of cleanliness. Singers and gatekeepers did the same as David and his son Solomon commanded.

In ancient times, on the days of David and Asaph, there were singers and hymns praising and thanking God.

During the time of Zerubbabel and Nehemiah, all Israel provided them with the daily portions due to the singers and gatekeepers, as well as the portions due to the Levites. The Levites also gave Aaron’s descendants a portion due.
