Jeremiah said to them, “Say this to Zedekiah:,
This is what the Lord, the God of Israel, says: I will turn over the weapons in your hands, which you have used to fight against the king of Babylon and the Chaldeans who are besieging you outside the city, and gather them all in this city.
And I will personally attack you with an outstretched hand and a strong arm in anger, anger, and great indignation.
And he will strike the inhabitants of this city, and both humans and livestock will suffer a great plague and die.
In the future, I will deliver King Zedekiah of Judah and his servants and people, who are left in the city from the plague, sword, and famine, into the hands of King Nebuchadnezzar of Babylon and his enemies, as well as those who seek his life. The king of Babylon will strike them with the sword, without mercy, pity, or mercy. This is what the Lord has said.
You shall say to this people, This is what the Lord says: See, I have set before you the path of life and the path of death.
Those who live in this city will die by the sword, famine, and plague. But those who go out to surrender and besiege you Chaldeans will live, and their own lives will be plundered.
The Lord said, I have turned my face against this city, bringing disaster but not good. This city will be handed over to the king of Babylon, who will burn it with fire.
As for the house of the king of Judah, listen to the word of the Lord.
O house of David, thus says the Lord: Do justice every morning, save the plundered from the hand of oppressors; lest my anger be kindled by your evil deeds, like a fire, so that no one can extinguish it.
The Lord said, “Who can come down against us, the inhabitants of the valleys and the rocks of the plains?”. Who can enter our residence? Look, I am enemies with you.
