Isaiah_Chapter 31

Woe to those who go down to Egypt to seek help, because they rely on horses, on many chariots, and on strong horsemen, but do not look up to the Holy One of Israel, nor ask the Lord.

In fact, the Lord has wisdom. He will bring disaster and not repent of his words, but he will rise up against the house of evil and against those who do evil and help others.

The Egyptians are just humans, not gods. Their horses are just flesh and blood, not spirit. When the Lord reaches out his hand, those who help will stumble, and those who receive help will fall, and they will all perish together.

The Lord has said to me, “Lions and young lions roar when they eat, calling out many shepherds to attack them. They will not be alarmed by their voices, nor will they bow down due to their noise.”. So the Lord of hosts will also come and fight on the hills of Zion.

As a bird flaps its wings and covers its young, so the Lord of hosts will protect Jerusalem. He will protect and save it, crossing over the gate to keep it safe.

O Israel, you have deeply rebelled against the Lord, and now turn to him.

On that day, everyone will abandon their idols of gold and silver, which they have made with their own hands to sin against.

The Assyrians will fall by the sword, not by a human sword. There is a sword to devour him, not a human sword. He will flee from this sword, and his young men will become slaves.

His rock will be moved away by fear, and his leaders will be terrified by the banner. This is what the Lord has said, with fire in Zion and a furnace in Jerusalem.
