O Israel, listen to the word of the Lord. The Lord argues with the inhabitants of this land, because there is no truth or goodness in this land, and no one knows God.

But making false oaths, not keeping promises, killing, stealing, adultery, rape, bloodshed, and so on.

Therefore, the land mourns, and the people on it, the beasts of the field, and the birds of the air will all wither away, and the fish in the sea will be destroyed.

However, no one needs to argue or blame, because this people are like those who resist the priests.

You, the priest, will fall by day, and the prophets will fall with you by night. I will destroy your mother.

My people perished due to lack of knowledge. If you abandon knowledge, I will also abandon you, so that you will no longer be a priest to me. Since you have forgotten the law of your God, I will also forget your children.

The more the priests increase, the more they offend me. I will turn their glory into shame.

They eat the sin offering of our people, full of desire for our people to sin.

As the people will be, so will the priests. I will punish them for their actions and repay them according to their deeds.

They eat, but cannot be full. Engaging in sexual activity without standing up. Because they have abandoned the Lord and have not obeyed his commands.

Prostitution and wine, combined with new wine, take away one’s heart.

My people ask for the wooden puppet, thinking that the wooden staff can show them, because their lewd heart has caused them to be lost, and they have committed adultery and abandoned God, not keeping their restraints.

Sacrifice and burn incense under the oak, poplar, and chestnut trees on each mountaintop, because the shadows of the trees are beautiful. So, your daughters commit adultery, and your brides commit adultery.

Your daughters have committed adultery, and your newlyweds have committed adultery, but I will not punish them, because you yourselves have separated from the prostitutes and lived with them, sacrificing together with them. This ignorant people will surely fall.

O Israel, although you commit fornication, Judah shall not sin. Do not go to Gilgal, do not go up to Beth Aven, and do not swear by the living Lord.

Israel is stubborn, like a stubborn cow. Now the Lord will release them like lambs in a wide land.

Ephraim is close to his idols, let him be.

What they drink has turned sour. They often engage in debauchery, and their officials love shame the most.

The wind enveloped them in its wings. They will be ashamed because of the sacrifices they offer.
