Genesis_Chapter 40
After this incident, the cupbearer and baker of the king of Egypt offended their lord, the king of Egypt,
Pharaoh was angry with the two officials, the wine steward and the chief baker,
Put them in the prison of the chief guard’s mansion, where Joseph was imprisoned.
The captain of the guard handed them over to Joseph, and Joseph served them. They are in prison for some days.
The wine steward and the chief baker of the king of Egypt, who were imprisoned in prison, each had a dream that night, and each dream had an explanation.
In the morning, Joseph entered them and saw that they looked gloomy.
He asked Pharaoh’s two officials, who were imprisoned with him in his master’s mansion, why are they looking sad today?
They said to him, ‘Each of us has had a dream, and no one can understand it.’. Joseph said, Isn’t interpreting dreams from God? Please tell me your dreams.
And the wine steward told Joseph his dream, saying, I dreamed that there was a vine before me,
There are three branches on the tree, which seem to have sprouted and bloomed, and the grapes on top have all matured.
The cup of Pharaoh is in my hand, so I squeezed grapes into his cup and handed it to him.
Joseph said to him, This is the interpretation of his dream: the three branches are three days.
Within three days, Pharaoh will take you out of prison and restore you to your original position. You must still hand over the cup to Pharaoh, just as you did as his wine steward before.
But when it benefits you, remember me, be kind to me, speak of me before Pharaoh, and save me from this prison.
I was really abducted from the land of the Hebrews. I haven’t done anything here, asking them to put me in prison.
When the chief baker saw that the dream was well understood, he said to Joseph, “In my dream, I saw three baskets of white bread on my head.”.
There are all kinds of food baked for Pharaoh in the top basket, and birds come to eat the food in the basket above my head.
Joseph said, This is how your dream is interpreted: three baskets make three days.
Within three days, Pharaoh will cut off your head and hang you on a tree, and birds will come to eat your flesh.
On the third day, which was Pharaoh’s birthday, he set up a banquet for all his officials and brought out the wine steward and the chief baker to the prison,
Restoring the wine administrator to his original position, he still handed the cup to the pharaoh.
But hang up the chief baker, as Joseph explained to them.
The bartender, however, did not remember Joseph and forgot about him.
